I think it averages out over time, the most prolific ones tend to reduce after a while.

Besides, don't you just tend to use it as a bit of a thread-filter? (although I do the opposite, certain posters will make me more likely to look at a thread)

No I don't think there should be a limit. I'm far too lazy to start my own threads, I need others to start plenty of them instead!
