I'm presently locked in my own pub... I'm painting on my own, with a dust-sheet over the pool table. The thought is nice though...

A bar I used to drink in had a struggling Indian restaurant next door. The enterprising owner would open up again to sell booze after the pub shut. Obviously without the correct licensing. To avoid attracting attention the lights would be switched off. Word spread and he attracted all the other stragglers from the other pubs in town to the point where it would be packed at 3 am.

To get in you'd have to bang on the windows or call your mates inside. The fire escape was thru the back and down a metal staircase which everyone would leg it down if the old bill arrived.

Ended up in there one NYE until about 10 am the next, one drinker who I'd not seen in years decided that 5 am was a great time to fire up the ovens and start knocking up some curries complete with poppadums for the clientele, much to the owners annoyance.

Ending up in the 147 bar in Liverpool after crawling out of a night club, buying beer from the vending machine, then getting the 6 o'clock train home absolutely wandered. I was too pissed to even consider trying anything on with the girl in there.
