I'm paying no more than a fiver for one. There's a novelty factor when you get your first couple but it wears off.

I know. I couldn't stop laughing when I heard this. What happens when they get too cold then?

It's only the ones with certain serial numbers that are worth anything..I think it's AA 000000000, or does the Queen have that one? No point just collecting one you get in your change from shopping lol

I got my first new fiver, went straight to the petrol station and can confirm that they don't last any longer than the old fivers

Any new £5 note starting AA has extra value anything between £300 for the really early ones off print (AA01) later ones starting AA01-AA11. Along with the one I seen on Ebay starting AK47 which sold for £45+

Total madness but I've got 2 on Ebay starting AA09 Will keep you posted on how they go over next 5 days.

Personally I like the design and when they are nice and crisp..

Going to try and put them to one side and save them, just like the good old days with 5p's.. Put the savings towards future swinging holidays..

Car park ticket machines may not like them, as I have already found out. Had to use a 20 pound note and got 15 pound coins back.

The Queen has the first one - it's AA00 000001.

As it's a similar shape to the old 3d bit, I wonder how many that have been hoarded will re-appear to be used in vending machines? Mind you, the new pound will probably weigh quite a bit less and the old 3d wouldn't work. That wouldn't stop some folks trying though!

Exactly what we've noticed, twice nearly handed over £10 when thinking it was £5 only. Nice notes though.
