Giving some thought to nye, I don't have many friends and family do their own thing so normally just me and kids. Play a few board games, have a laugh, get pizza, eat sweets, watch a movie that sort of thing. But it can be a bit boring just the 3 of us, was thinking about throwing kids a nye party but not sure if anyone would come. Never heard of a kids nye party so just wondering if anyone had? Thrown one? Did kids turn up? Or not a good idea as families like to spend new year together?

My friend threw her kids one (she has loads) last year and used the earlier showing of the year befores fireworks so they were well in bed for the main event!

Oh I meant inviting other people's kids over lol not loads just maybe 2/3 friends each to have a bit of a shin dig and let them sleep over. As I don't do much to celebrate anyway I prefer to have my boys at home but think it's boring for them. So if they had a few mates round had a pizza etc might be more fun for them and make it a bit more of a celebration. Just wondering what other parents would think of someone throwing a kids nye party x

i'm guessing a lot of parents would enjoy the free baby sitting service.

i'd not send my kids unless it was someone i knew well.

A world of my own

I find new years eve pretty hard. Was always my dad's time and I miss the chat just after 12 with him.

Ive also had no one to kiss at the bells in 9 years.

Don't get me wrong I love my cosy nights in with my boys but we do that all the time!

Id love to throw a party and have a houseful of friends but I doubt they would come as all do their own things.

Hope yours goes well I think its a nice idea

Yeh the kids mates so I do know all the mom's well and they've all stayed god knows how many times. I did think people might appreciate the babysitting but that's cool cos I love having a house full of kids x

Yeh that's how I feel me and the boys do that all the time which I why I thought make it a bit more special for them having their mates over new year x

We're sure that if you mentioned it to your friends they'd be overjoyed and send their kids round with all the necessary party goods too...We would and we'd include a little something for the hostess.

Our neighbours do one so all the kids go there and all the adults have a separate party. We do all meet up for midnight.

Put it out there and see what your children say. As someone else said, others will welcome the chance for them to go out and know their children are being looked after.

The cinema is great NYE afternoon then you could do a party afterwards. I think they'd come : just give plenty of notice.

I don't have anyone to share NYE and haven't had for years and years, so it is just me and wine and normally sleeping before the bells are in lol

When I was younger my gran used to have a New Year's Eve party and all the kids in the street and other streets would be in the house it would be my gran and my Bampi and my great gran, couple of the neighbours came as well and the adults got pissed and ate Buffett food and us kids were looked after by my great gran. She would dip kids dummy's in her martini, would tell horrible stories about the war and spooky things, would show us all the weird things in her handbag like teeth, rabbits feet, coal and bullet shells from the war. It was brilliant!
