In the bedroom. Loads of equipment and toys

North Herts

Where it's needed most?

If it were us it'd probably go on a new bathroom and getting the roof fixed so our daughter could finally have a bigger bedroom.

What are you looking to do? Add value, spruce it up, repairs/maintenance?

Is your home fully insulated? Loft insulation, windows, doors, cavity wall?

Electrics and boiler all up to scratch?

After those I'd be looking at my bedroom, new storage especially.

What are your floors looking like?

The most important thing is insulation and roof, to me.

The old bathroom. They should leave you with water and the bath, until the new one is ready to go in.

Research... Sampling different hotels around the globe would be my recommendation, to try to find inspiration

We've just got our valuation back today. Had our house just over two years, spent around £10,000 on it,

And we've the valuation is £40k more than we bought it for!

Think it might be time to sell up in 3 years when we can legally sell it.

We did a dormer, new boiler, fire, all replastered.

We well putting money into property, even spending 5k can add loads of value.

So far I'm thinking composite front door. Nice banister, new carpet on stairs and landing.

Avoid big carpet companies!

Our quote from carpet right or some company like that was double what a local carpet fitter charged us

I know it sounds stupid but what are all your internal doors like? Can transform the look of every room with really nice doors. I also like tiles in the sitting room instead of traditional carpet or wood floor/laminate. Some large high gloss tiles in the sitting room looks nice and can be cheaper than a new carpet or laminate. Bathroom if you don't want to do the full suite could replace the sink with one of those sinks with built in vanity unit and cupboards, I hate products and stuff displayed in bathrooms. Replace light switches if they're your normal standard white plastic ones. If your kitchen looks tired you can use one of those companies that just does the doors so you keep the layout but just updates everything.

What rooms specifically do you want to do?

Gotta summer house. But the decking could do with being finished off. And other tidying up jobs. New rear lean-to or similar.

I never buy carpet from those big companies. How they can charge double that of my local 2 guy carpet place is beyond me.

If I do it you wash and clean your teeth downstairs like everyone else, and shower where you can for 2 weeks. You can't rush perfection

So firstly I need a downstairs shower room. Then do the bathroom!

If ya like. It's much easier if you have a cloakroom or downstairs loo otherwise I'd order a porta loo.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Is the pointing all fine? Windows? Is this just an internal job?

If I had a spare £5k for home improvement I'd need to keeping saving for another £5k to do all the things I want to do.

It was £1k just decorating the bedroom and buying a couple of new bits of furniture and curtains.
