Today for lunch I had a saveloy sandwich (a smoked sausage sandwich, with pease pudding, stuffing and mustard). They are amazing. I virtually inhaled the thing.

They should be sold everywhere!

What local one food or drink would you export across the UK?

Im not sure if you can export them outside the uk but i know you can buy dickenson and morrisons porkpie. But if anyone wants a melton mowbray porkpie from the shop that wins all the awards they have to sweet talk me onto getting them one

Yorkshire fishcakes

For those who haven't tried one its 2 slices of potato, pieces of fish in the middle, battered and then fried. Yum much nicer than the ones made from mashed potato and fish dipped in breadcrumbs.

Bloke gets a menu at a cafe

"I'll have the pissoles"

Waiter says "sorry that should be an r"

"I'll have the aresoles then"

Hmmm Can't think of any localised food from down here.

I'd have my own biltong factory and export that.

And don't see pease pudding outside the north east that much. Wife is from Cumbria and she hadn't heard of it until she moved to Newcastle.

I was going to say we should export (British) curry dishes but, apparently, we already do.

Saveloys used to be made out of pig's brain tissue (I shit you not). I bet a bit still finds it way in there.

They're still delicious, though.
