Bit of a random one....

I'm going to a wedding on Saturday and need a new suit for the occasion.

Maybe I'm a bit out of the times but I have no clue what is in trend at the moment...

So ladies, what styles really get you going? And gents, what styles have you been wearing when you had some "success" wearing a suit?

FYI Currently favouring Grey woolen suit with blue tie and brown shoes.

Suits never go out of fashion, I have 18 some which are 25yo. They still fit thankfully and still catch the ladies eye.

Be more adventurous than a black suit, and don't have a boring tie. Finish off with a pocket square as dress watch.

Make sure it's fitted, too. Embarrassing seeing men in baggy suits.

Can't go wrong with Paul Smith.... or if you're a larger guy then Hugo Boss... for something fashionable that will stand out - Oswald Boetang....

Slaters is a good call, can't beat a marine blue suit from Tm Lewin - pretty cheap great cut and right on the money for current style

I saw a burgundy heavy wool suit in next they also had it in blue and olive I'm sure....the wool was really heavy and it sounds rank but a guy was trying the burgundy one on and it was smart as.....really trendy x

Blue seems to be working the best recently, as someone said can't go wrong with the classic black. Just make sure you have it tailored otherwise can have the opposite effect!

It has to be a well tailored suit. My mother's a tailor, I can't stand off the peg poorly fitting suits.

As someone else said suits are ageless but I also think that there are different styles depending on age and size. You could definitely get away with a slim fit, narrow lapels effort.. Grey is a winner too and always wool if you can afford it. Enjoy

If I'm wearing a suit I prefer grey, but I'm also a big fan of grandad collar shirts meaning no tie.
