British World Heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury has retired from Boxing?

Just heard on the news he announced his retirement with a foul mouthed tweet full of expletives, and he said boxing was the saddest thing he'd ever taken part in.

What are your thoughts on him and his career?

The irony hey?

The sport has made him a multi-millionaire and now he's throwing his toys because he was caught taking drugs.

Silly boy!

Good decision.

He wouldn't win a rematch and Joshua would hammer him.

All over for him as soon as the drugs revelation was announced, doubt we've heard the last of that particular story either. Won't miss him at all.

He said some disgraceful things, but it always comes a surprise when people are shocked about statements from someone whose chosen career is punching people in the head.

He shouldn't be given airtime for off-topic comments.

Its just him lashing out at the witch hunt thats plagued his career when you watch the inter_iews he has done and then read the media backlash afterwards so much of whats reported is taken out of context its crazy

Neither VADA, the BBBC or the Fury camp have released any statement about what came up posetive in his test and in most cases it turns out to be a tainted suppliment but a news article came out about him testing posetive for and the world automaticcaly labels him a addict, any other boxer who did what he did would be praised and put on a pedestal but fury never got the recognition he deserves and is now fed up with it cant blame him at all

I think its a shame we wont get to see him outbox Klit and AJ

Mr

Glad to see the back end of him although was hoping he had the balls to go through with the rematch wanted to see Wlad tear him another arse.

Maybe now the Alphabet Boys can get down to business with Wlad. Joshua, Wilder, Parker, Haye, Whyte and possibly big David Price and have a comp to decide an undisputed champion

So not going to happen though

He wouldnt even stand with Haye! joshua is massively powerfull but thats all he has he is flat footed, he doesnt have angles, he has a static head that gets hit and a poor tank look at the whyte fight he was gassed in 6 and a top fighter would have finished him before that point anyone who thinks he could deal with Fury's reach, hight and speed is kidding themselves but we will find that out sooner or later Fury aint gonna retire he will be back soon enough

the man suffers from depression so can be excused on this .

pity he has depression because of that fact we will never know how good the guy could have been as a boxer.

Is that the professional boxing equivalent of having an almighty public diva strop on the forums and then going UNLOS?

Its a bum division who has he faught??? His biggest accomplishment is winning the title against charles martin a guy who got the belt only after his apponent was pulled out with an ACL injury had thatnot have happened Glazkov would have battered martin. Im not saying joshua isnt good im just saying that a man with Furys skillset would be a very hard night for him

There are only 4 decent proven HW boxers on the planet Povetkin, Haye, Fury and Klitscko the rest are either past their prime or have never been in a real fight boxings all about MW and SMW at the moment

Although he's a total twat I can't help but find him hilarious, perhaps he's far far more intelligent than anyone has ever imagined, I mean he's even got a thread dedicated to himself on a swingers website

How many other boxers can say that

If he has refused to give a sample as is rumoured he will struggle to avoid a ban. And that's before the alleged positive.

Stupid to have cancelled what is likely to be his last payday for a few years.

Harsh!

A very good buddy of ours was a British Lonsdale champion, he's still smart and a very nice guy to the point of being sedate, a very professional guy and non violent except for sparring and when he was in the ring.

I know people who participate in all kinds of fighting, be in professional or for fun.

Most mellow mild bunch of guys and girls when they are out of the ring/cage.

When you are psyched up to fight that is an esntirely different persona.

Pretty crappy generalised comment

I've got some Thai boxing friends, one of them was British/European champion in his weight division. Really nice guy and would never go out to deliberately start a fight or cause trouble on a night out. Only time I've seen him fight was sparring or during competitive matches in the ring.

Newcastle and Gateshead

i think this is a case of all the rumours of him having mental health issues are likely correct.....

i don't think it is now a case of him being liked or hated... i think that he now just needs help....

if he gets that help and never fights again.... thats a positive in his life....
