That practice is only done by one small branch of one religion, and I wouldn't say it's a feature of "religion" as a concept. Like CLCC, I have seen much much more anti-religious bashing in my lifetime than anti-non-believers bashing. I always also notice much more spontaneous anti-religious bashing than anti-non-believers bashing. Like, I can't think of a single time when anyone who is religious has come out and said "You know who I hate? Those atheists." (in fact, pretty much every religion I've been in contact with encourages a practice of love towards non-believers) but actually atheists say that about religious people all the time. Most religious people I know just practise quietly, while many more atheists are mega concerned about letting people know that they don't believe in a god. | |||
