I am down to four, thankfully.

The Lollipop Shoes - Joanne Harris (I actually found it in a charity shop the day after I finished Chocolat for the 2678th time)

Starter For Ten - David Nicholls

The Slap - Christos Tsiolkas

Thanks For The Memories - Ceceila Ahern

Currently "Dictator" by Robert Harris. I'm putting it off because it's the third part in a trilogy, he spent years writing it, and now I can't remember how the last one finished.

I keep meaning to look up a synopsis on Wikipedia.

Just read 'Deviant' by Veronica Roth and now ready to scour the charity shops for 'Insurgent' and 'Allegiant'

Also started the second GOT book 'Clash of Kings' but that will be the toilet/bath read as it's a hefty tome.

I'm about to finish The Crow Road by Iain Banks.

I have a mountain of books to read next, and even more that I want to buy.

A fantasy meet/date scenario would be browsing a bookshop, second hand ones are wonderful, and having stolen kisses against the bookshelves.

I struggled from the walking 60 odd miles in a day carrying a child, a violin and something else, all the way to dying from 'going outside and getting the bottom of her dress a bit damp'. I preferred Anne's books of the three of them.

The Crow Road is excellent.

I've just read The First Casualty by Ben Elton and thoroughly enjoyed it. I've got a pile of books next to my bed that I want to get through: People's Act of Love by James Meek (about a small town in Siberia just before the Bolsheviks take it over)

I adored Wolf Hall, but found "Bring Up The Bodies" a bit of a chore for some reason. It's just as beautifully written, but I disappointingly found myself getting rather bored.

I don't really have a reading list. I have over 3000 books on my kindle, another 25,000 on disks, and I've read about 300 of them.

They are a bit long winded, not something I could read hours on end, I was doing ok until I got to part 2 of this book and I've totally lost interest. "Currently "Dictator" by Robert Harris. I'm putting it off because it's the third part in a trilogy, he spent years writing it, and now I can't remember how the last one finished.

I keep meaning to look up a synopsis on Wikipedia.

Mr ddc

Read it as it is a very good read"

It really is, isn't it.

I still find it fascinating that we know so much about people from 2000 years ago.

(no plot spoilers pls, I'm only halfway: I wonder whether that Julius Caesar bloke will get his comeuppance )

"I've just finished Ninefox Gambit by Yoon Ha Lee. It's SF and quite strange and quite wonderful. Id recommend it to anyone especially fans of Iain Banks. I've now got the stress of choosing my next book..."

Cheeta-just put that in my basket

I have to admit that some of the seriousness has been ruined by the fact that I can't help picturing Cato as Burt Kwouk

{as Julius Caesar}

"Not now, Cato, I know you're hiding in Africa with 5 legions and a bunch of Numidian barbarians"

Loved that book, wonder what the film will be like, sometimes they're a disappointment.

There and to the left a bit

Blooming loads right now,I used to get through a book a week when I commuted every day, but since I now mostly work from home have yet to find a good "reading time" to sit down and get my nose into something...currently working my way through Ben Elton's "Two Brothers" and then have the new Peter James lined up next.

It is. Film was alright, not a patch on the book though.

The book was ok. Don't really see what all the fuss is about.

I'm currently waiting for the new Norse mythology book by Neil Gaiman and the chance to fan girl all over him at the signing. Rereading The Night Circus as it's a suitably autumnal book and so evocative.
