"How important is it to you? Personally I find it a big turn off and a bit cringey to read profiles and forum posts littered with mistakes. Laziness (text speak for example) doesn't help either. I know some people are dyslexic and others will blame autocorrect... I'm not trying to offend anyone here, just wondering if it's important to anyone else? I personally find it easier to click and connect with someone online if we have similar levels of education. I'm not saying you need a degree to talk to me, just that being able to communicate effectively with the written word helps a great deal! For instance, if someone only responds to my messages with one sentence replies, I'll soon tire of propping up the conversation. What do you think? Am I being too *ahem* anal about it? Do you care how they communicate, as long as they can fuck? Please discuss!" Don't mind as long as they are a good fuck! I wish..

"I'm almost too afraid to reply in spelling and grammar posts because I know I'm far from perfect in both. The odd mistake is fine. We all do it particularly when typing on telephone keypads (fat finger syndrome!). But I must admit a profile or message littered with spelling errors or poor grammar is more likely to turn me off than a well written one. I appreciate that a lot of people have dyslexia and so they will always naturally struggle more than others. Sometimes though I feel that the dyslexia 'excuse' is overused by people that don't actually have it as a justification for poor spelling (tin hat on!)" **written with perfect grammar and punctuation**

I'm sure it could be the case that it's just an excuse for some but for others it is genuine. I'd love if there was a function that can turn phone screens different colours as I see/read better on the colour yellow I always had a yellow note pad for school

"PhD or gtfo." I nearly went on to do a PhD. I just wanted to be able to rush up to people who'd fainted shouting "Let me through, I'm a Doctor", then just rip open their blouses and go "Phwoar, nice tits" . OP: you can have any criteria you like, but I agree with Doc. Mr ddc Ps my problem isn't the autocorrect, it's the bloody auto-derange

"The written word is a beautiful thing! txt spk (not including LOL....it's my guilty pleasure!) makes me feel like I'm talking to a teenager. Intelligence doesn't always relate to education though. Someone can be highly educated, but lack the ability to think outside the box or have good social skills for example. Typos are an annoying part of messaging that happens to everyone, but a profile littered with spelling mistakes does put me off I'm afraid as it just comes across as lacking in effort? In saying that I've met people who have dyslexia, been upfront about it and I don't have a problem with that at all. There's a difference between a difficulty that someone may have, and inherent laziness in my opinion. Xx" Couldn't have put it any better myself.

"Communication in any form of relationship is important to me but is just one aspect of it. A can't be bothered attitude wouldn't appeal much in a profile or message. Text speak deters me and I may not read it. In the forum then it's a little different - my autocorrect and tiredness affect my posts and I'm generous to others. We're here for fun and not critical language classes. " don't sorry there will be no communication here dear......

"I have A level literature also when i was younger i taught people basic english mostly in a prison. I did this voluntary i made a small positive impact on a few peoples lives who could do know more than sign their names. Now tiredness and a lifetime of extremely strong medication has aggled my brain. At this time of day im lucky i can manage to get something out that people can even understand. So if people who complain about poor spelling and grammer care that much they can always get off their arses and go help someone"

"Everyone makes the odd spelling mistake, no issues with that. I know dyslexia is more rife nowadays too. I have decoded several messages and no issue with that either. I will delete completely incomprehensible messages that I can't translate in under 5 minutes. My big issue is lazy messages. "Wuu2" or "fck now?" are lazy messages and tend to be ignored. I find it hard to believe that someone who is not willing to make an effort to send a decent message, would make an effort to actually meet up. Multiple lazies also get blocked. " is dyslexia more rife? Or do people just actually know what it is these days

"Here's a fun story for the 'grammar nazis' . One night at your favourite club, you get chatting to a new, sexy couple. They are fun, into just the same things as you and everything is going great. As the evening progresses, no-one can wait any longer and you all decide it's time to play. You have the most amazing time, all leaving with an inner glow, heads still full of the unbelievable mix of fun just enjoyed. You exchange Fab user names, so you can plan your next meet together as soon as possible. The next morning, you see the little yellow square of an unread message, noticing it's from the couple from the night before. You eagerly open it and begin to read: ' Hiya yous two. Last nite was gr8, we think your amazin. carnt wait to see ya again, msg us when your free xx ' . . . . . . Don't worry, it is only fiction, sleep tight, don't have nightmares " ha, still it's definitely a better message than 'um, you'd better call a clinic'

"There are several people on this thread who said they were dyslexic and there in nothing wrong with their profiles. It's clear that a lot of effort has gone into their profiles and probably even more so due to their dyslexia. I don't think the OP was really talking about people with genuine difficulties, more so people who are perfectly capable but can't be bothered. And you can usually identify those who have a sloppy lazy approach, as it comes out in a variety of ways, not just the way they write. Yes it's a swingers site, but that being an excuse for not taking pride in how a person presents themselves doesn't wash with me. Mrs" Genuine dyslexics are masters at hiding the fact. I've worked for the same company for the last 18 years and only 2 people know I'm dyslexic and they only know because I sussed they was so I told them

My old profile said I was dyslexic but so many people told me I should take it off so I did as I was told which is a 1st for me " And nothing wrong with getting someone to check. Don't know if I'm dyslexic or not, but I wouldn't write something without getting it checked by another eye. Obviously texting and forums don't count. Luckily my husband can check what I write for the profile. Probably a bit harder for single people. But if possible 2 pairs of eyes are better than one. Mrs

"Honestly I am dyslexic and try my best to spell correctly and use appropriate grammar but I know I do get it wrong at times. " My daugher is dyslexic and her spelling and grammar is better than most because she makes more of an effort to make sure it's right, when she sends an email she double checks everything, with help, to make sure it's right before sending You tend to find this with most people with learning disabilities

One of my daughters is dyslexic she's a maths genius though and her drawings are fantastic When she was a young child she was just branded as lazy and didn't get any help at all from school, so she just sat at the back of the class doing what she could do, and for her that was numbers and drawings I told the school for years I didn't believe she was just lazy and I suspect she had a learning disability they just said that wasn't the case When she went upto secondary school the teacher spotted it straight away, within three days of starting they were organising one to one tuition for her and she came in leaps and bounds one she was getting the help she needed She's now 23 and doing her final year in pediactric nursing I'm very proud of her to be honest, for people with learning disabilities its just a case of finding out what works for you Also not being able to read and write properly should not make you the butt of people jokes

"As long as a message is comprehends let it doesn't bother me. Grammar nazis who get kicks correcting things are more annoying IMO." Couldn't agree more I love correcting people who make a mistake when correcting people though

"txt spk is usually harder to decode so I can't imagine how somebody with dyslexia would find it easier to use. I like a bit of grammatical nerdery but I don't have much time for pedants. I don't have much time for lazy bastards who are full of excuses either."

"Oh now here is a thread intended to cause mayhem " Well I've not seen any mayhem, in fact I'm impressed with how mature most of the responses have been. Who would have thought you could have a discussion here without getting derailed by insults or incessant flirting?!

"I tend to use spelling and gramm as a good indication of intelligence although there are exceptions obviously! If someone talks in text speak or merely monosyllables on their profile I always skipped to the next one I need to be with someone who can hold a decent conversation to really get that connection with our clothes off"
