Hey folks,

Is it just me or are the neanderthals that think it's amazing to set off fireworks starting earlier each year?!

I've just had quite a lot,too much for it to be kids!

It really grips my shit, anyone else agree?

Does anyone else think that the shops should only be allowed to sell them one week before? Or am I getting grumpy?!

You're grumpy

Fireworks are being sold all year round now, and you get as many on New Years Eve as you do on 5/11 nowadays

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Diwali is at the end of the month so there will be a fireworks before November - but all in the same week.

Maybe they should only be on sale two weeks before?

We went to a silent display last year so there seems to be some technology available to stop the big bangs.

Doesn't bother me, unless one goes off close to my head. Then, I jump and for a split second I feel scared. Other than that, it's all good

West Wales

Our two cats used to sit at the window and watch ours, dog doesn't seem that bothered either.

Many round here seem to use them on birthdays too so we have them going off at anytime of the year

Going back 35 years or so, we used to pick potatoes in the October School holidays to earn cash to purchase fireworks, remember the "Brocks" bangers,

we also purchased a certain killer to mix with sugar and make pipe bombs, head out into the fields and let them off, and throw bangers around street, this went on from middle of October

I guess I would go Ape if kids done that today.

So the general consensus is grumpy then lol!

Well at Hogmanay no one starts setting them off a month before though!

I live close enough to Edinburgh to hear all the tattoo fireworks every night for 3 weeks yet that's an organised event as such.

It's the random ones that go off and usually late at night.

Maybe I'll start one of those government petitions lol

Look the pyromaniacs have test the fireworks they could be using on the night, they need to make sure which one will give the best bang or biggest ah moment for their money. Personally I think you are a grumpy pants, therefore will not be allowed a sparkler on the day.

I agree, especially when animals are involved (as in they don't like them)

I think only organisations should be allowed to buy fireworks.

I must agree, giving explosives to children was never a good idea.

I like fireworks any time of year but I agree they should only be done by professional companies.

We had a fireworks competition by us the other week. Cats weren't arsed about it. My sisters dig was a bit but they let her sleep with them that night. Don't think my dad's fish were bothered either.
