Interesting.

It's almost like someone just wanted to... I dunno... make money rather than foster and facilitate another way of living.

Looks like you get extra days though - 2.5 x 60 days membership (was it just 2x previously?)

Still £20 for 240 days + 55 days free that I usually do ..

I am...

Maybe they can use some of the increased revenues to upgrade the creaking site infrastructure?

Just a thought.

That's 25% inflation!

No-one can afford that across the board

My thought is no one has to pay it if they don`t want too, and what`s £2.50 between friends

I wasn't aware that we had 25% inflation across the board...I thought this was about the site supporters fee.

Based on how many years?

If it's 25% inflation but they last raised prices 25 years ago, it's only 1%. (although technically less than 1% due to the multiplier effect.)

25% inflation - that's the point indeed.

However, as also pointed you can choose to pay or not.

If I'm not mistaken this could be a business

The site is here to make a profit. In the end of the day they offer a free option. So really it's up to them what they charge for the paid service and up to you if you want it.

Then they should invest some of the profits back into the company... Unless it's *just* about the money...

Last time this subject came up Ruggers explained that new price-structure was only for new starters. Existing members remain on their current rate.

(knowing my Scottish ancestry, I suspect they did it to discourage us from going unlos & returning.)

It's still £5 for 60 days for us.

2 hours in the cinema is over a tenner now (and don't get me started on the price of popcorn )

I've been here ten years and it was quiet when I first joined - I hardly used it back then tbh

Whilst it's a nice notion it's technology incorrect.

The owners design the site, the dev makes the site. The users use it.

Ps if the site was running only for 10 years, to keep up with inflation, £10 ten years ago would be equivalent to £14 today.

That makes sense as I can't find anything about fees going up. I pay £20 every few months as I find that easier plus I can pay tro PayPal. Xxx

It's £5 for 50 days now if your profile is newer than about a year or so.

For increased days. I think it is because it costs too much to process the payments on a card but I am not sure you are losing out with the increased days
