really never understood why people get so wound up about how others pronounce words in different countries...as a canadian...who pronounces things all the same ways that seem to send you over the edge...excuse me for living...lol

you dont put gas in a car - well actually you do now - but its still lpg liquid! petroleum gas

though to be fair in the combustion action - then yeah i can see the gas term

but stop pumping gas - pump petrol!

And before the yanks there were the Greeks, French, Italians (Latin), Angles, Saxons, Celts, and occasional north african... {amongst others } All keeping our mother tongue clear from violation...

We have one of the most inclusive and comprehensive languages on this earth...

UK Driving instructors seem to use the word Gas, to indicate more power to the engine, guess "power" would be just as good....

It's funny how even here people call some cars gas guzzlers, never heard them being petrol guzzlers
