What is an effective type of contraception other than the pill or condoms

If your wondering why

I've found the coil to be good. It doesn't suit everybody but i like it because once it's in i get no side effects i still get periods but they are lighter and don't last as long and the best thing. ..because I'm lazy i don't have to think about it for 5 years!

I defiantly wouldn't go down the sterilized route but defiantly don't want to risk getting pregnant eaither ??
