(Nessa )

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samhain

What are your plans for Samhain/Halloween?

How do you celebrate or not?

There are lovely traditions this time of year.

We will be greeting the wee witches and goblins (princesses and super heros) as they come by for sweeties. Most of them are regulars and a few of the special wee witches get to come into see my magic broom.

I love the wonder in thier eyes...they hold the true secret of magic.

Then later I might meet up with some of the girls..... (enter wicked laughing here)

Witchy kisses

Oh me oh my.....how I would love to spy.

-----

"When all the world has gone to sleep

The hunters to the forest creep

From out 'the wild wood comes the call:

"The hunt is life ... the hunt is all ..."

An ancient forest beckons me

To run skyclad amongst the trees

My lusty spear, it cannot wait

The gentle deer to penetrate

Cernunnos, Lord of Beasts, he grunts:

"Come join us for the Wylde Hunt! ..."

Omnia

sounds lovely.

I missed the trick a treaters last year. Now I'm in a flat they don't come knocking so I may hijack my youngest n go with her or failing that steal a child to dress up n take out.

For myself I'll spend sometime on the beach or maybe go up to gwrch castle to take an offering and collect some leaves or shells. Then once dark I'll have my meal by candle light n sit quietly n remember my ancestors. Xxx

(Nessa)

I dont think so, its about how people celebrate Samhain /Halloween.

Party, fancy dress, quietly at home handing out sweeties, mass witches orgy in the forest, dancing around a bonfire covered in the blood of a slaughtered goat, or dinner out.

naaaaaaahhhhhh....not creepy.

hee hee,

kisses

Ah Samhain, our favourite celebration.

We love the woods, the changes in the trees this time of year is magical and the join between this world and the next is most easily crossed.

The Friday we will go to Pendle woods, walk around and take in the atmosphere and listen to Mother Earth and the music of the night.

Saturday to Edinburgh for ghost walks, all things paranormal and dressing up to show our support to the undead and those in the realm of the spirits.

And have a few spirits ourselves....

A kiddies party with the kids.. take them trick an treating.. then out for the traditional side of it.

Hide it from the kids though.. as although i was taught from a young age i will not introduce my kids to the craft in any form. They can choose for themselves when they are older..

Agree. We have hammock tents that can be attached high up between trees and often sleep 12-15 ft up in the trees, totally safely as they are very secure once fastened (takes a little practice).

Best nights sleep ever.

Love it....

Its nice to see the variety of things that people are doing on Halloween.

Ofcourse there are those that choose a more "detached" version of celebrating but I think this is normal. Not everyone likes birthdays or St. Andrews Day or Easter. ..ect ect.

I do like to hear the more "involved" stories. Hee hee

Escorting "trick or treaters" is a adventure in itself and I am always thankful to these wonderful adults that ensure the safety of the wee ones. Big Kiss and a thank you. (You should dress up too.)

Kisses

They whisper secrets, the sing songs, they talk of memories and lost loves, they help solve problems. You just have to take the time, relax and listen.

Try it one sunny autumn day....let the trees talk to you.

Ive had some trees gush out an emotional 'feel good' . An aid to relax. Others answer questions . On one occasion the emotional rush I received made me laugh so hard my wife started laughing with me . There are also those who ask for our help. On two separate occasions I've been called to a specific location where I found an animal in need of help . I believe there is no end to there knowladge . All you have to do is show a little respect , open your mind and listen. xxxxx

I agree , teaching young kids to beg sweets from strangers is not healthy in my opinion

Dress them up have a party , carve pumpkins , Bob for apples yes

Send them to random people and tell them to ask for the nasty addictive drug called sugar .hmm

Aaaaawwwww I'm sorry you have had bad experiences.

The wee ones and teenagers around us have been wonderful.

Some have even come back days later to thank us or thank us for being nice to thier wee sister.

I think most of the kids know we are polite and friendly. ...and we look out for everyones safety.

Its given us a good reputation with kids and teens.

Well I hope if you do anything for Halloween this year....its safe and fun for you.

Kisses
