We put filters on our but there's some photos which are so obviously photoshopped (badly)

Some people must live in wonky houses with curves door frames etc

Let them. Doesn't matter what we think. Plus airbrushing removes a lot of key features, such as distingishable moles or tattoos, so airbrushing is useful.

I don't airbrush mine - just look at the wobbly tummy! (or actually, *don't* look too closely

) While most of us want to show ourselves in the best light and therefore put up pics we think are reasonably flattering there's no point in creating a completely false image as if you genuinely intend meeting others you're going to be found out sooner or later anway unless you intend getting down to things in pitch black darkness.

What about using a long focal length lens to _educe a prominent nose or a soft focus lens to _educe blemishes? Where are you going to draw the line?

Manipulated images have been around since 1857. I think you may have to get used to that fact.

My point was that they weren't photoshopping to make themselves appear completely different. The removal of blemeshis and the like are fine in my opinion, but its when they manipulate their features to make their lips look big or face skinnier. That's when it's decietful. Also only dislike airbrushing if it's a really really bad job. I should offer to show some of the people how to use it effectively

I will blur out a spot or scar, that patch I missed when shaving my legs, shoot myself from flattering angles and in flattering light, in complicated underwear, bung a filter on and crop out anything I don't like. I'm bugge_ed if I'm putting a photo up where I don't think I look good because someone else thinks I'm being "misleading".

I see it in the same vein as makeup. If people think my lashes are naturally long, perfect and black, my lips are naturally perfectly shaped and bright _ed, or my eyelids are naturally anointed with gold, that's their problem, they're an idiot.

I use black and white filters.Or use photolab for special effects.The rest I just crop and take straight from my phone. If I could master how to use filters better I would. I tried to use blur for face but just looks like someone has dabbed me.

I don't see anything wrong with using post processing techniques to improve a picture, getting rid random objects in the background or that random zit that you didn't spot before taking the photo and blurring distinguishing marks for your own privacy.

And why not be creative with some images, some of us appreciate a cleverly manipulated image.

Sometimes the pictures I show are not suitable for where I show my mainstream pictures I take. Here I can play with them and show a different side to me.Pictures are a form of art and I enjoy looking at all types.

I don't pick my meets purely on the basis of their photo, so I wouldn't care if they didn't turn up to the coffee social in sepia with a vignette border. I think my photos in their edited form give more of an impression of what I'm like and what I'm about than a shitty selfie in a toothpaste spatte_ed mirror.

Generally- if it wasn't used then a lot of magazines would show real people, looking real- and body dysmorphic syndrome would probably be less common and maybe there would be less eating disorders and bullying amongst teens.

The trouble I have with some of the natural pictures is that some of them give the impression that that person really doesn't give a shit what image of themselves they portray. I am not keen on meeting someone who doesn't make any effort to present themselves. I know that they aren't going to look perfect but with most of the editing that's done you can have a pretty good idea what that person looks like.

In a profile pic I think some kind of editing is important unless you can honestly say that your pic doesn't look like half the other people on fab. It's what gets you noticed enough for people to click on your profile and remember you if you've had any interaction before. There are only so many poses, you have to make it different somehow.

I also don't want to know what people look like when they've just rolled out of bed in a morning. If I'm going to meet them I expect them to have put in as much effort as they have taken when choosing their pics.

I get it about distinguishing features but wobbly bits are a part of your life story and I think if people feel they have to cover them up Its rather sad .. obviously that's just my opinion and it's also not something I would resort to doing, especially in the context of getting a meet

That's basically what I was thinking but couldn't be arsed to type it!

I enjoy seeing everyone's individual style and how they go about showing themselves and how their personalities can come through in their photos. Everyone puts their own individual stamp on their pics and I like that. There's no right or wrong to it. Obviously I don't want to see too much airbrushing but a bit of manipulation is never a problem.

As the amount must be pretty small by comparison?

And if people do and people fab them who is it hurting?

It's not like you have guy's who have a four inch cock altering pic's to make it look like it's ten inches is it

And if someone is daft enough to meet someone purely based on one picture of someone with a cock the size of a small country, then they are probably getting what they deserve!

I try to make the most of what I am; as this site is primarily based on initial reaction to a photograph (Can't wait to get flamed for that). I present myself as I hope I look.....on a good day.

Yes I use filters and I adjust the lighting because lets face it; my bedroom isn't a studio. Do I adjust my shape and size? No... I truly am a skinny wretch

. Do I use angles for best impact Yes. The first question many couples ask me is how big I am down there.. and I am honest about that; after all if we meet and I am not then things won't go well.

Airbrushing? True airbrushing? I don't think much of that goes on; its very easy to spot. Covering up a few blemishes which are transient anyway; adjusting the lighting etc isn't cheating; its making the most of what you have. As long as people have a good assortment of photos; then we can all use our eyes and noodles to get an indication of what people actually look like.

Failing that theres always a social first; so why worry? If you are that unsure you have it within your control to allay those fears.

When I meet someone I just want to see a clear natural pic,yes there's some great pic's on here there's no doubt about that and people have clearly put the time and effort in,but show me just a natural one as well and it's very much appreciated. If I'm left with no clear vision of what someone looks like it's just irritating.

One of the reasons I don't have a face pic is that I don't photograph well. If i was going to put one on, it would be photoshopped to an inch of its life.

I sent my face pic once, I got a reply. 'Everyone looks good in black and white....'.

I like people who take good photos and are artistic. There's s particular woman here who does very artistic picture, I've never once thought anything of it apart that they're nice. (And I fancy her, don't say anything)

Isn't that what it's all about. Just making what you think is a true representation of yourself for others to see. How you go about that is up to the individual but I really don't see what the big deal is about adding a bit of photographic jiggery pokery here and there. That's not deceiving anybody. I've done a lot of image work for ladies in the past. Adding text/watermarks, altering brightness & contrast, sharpening the image, cutting around the person & putting in different backgrounds, adding borders/sparkles/lighting effects etc but, apart from brushing out tattoos, I don't alter the bodies.

. Just because I don't use filters etc doesn't mean to say there was no enthusiastic there ok admittedly inventiveness may be lacking somewhat,but it's all about who the subject is for me. You can have as many great pic's as you want,but if I don't fancy you then I don't you simple as that.

I just use filters... that's allowed isn't it?

Airbrushing is a photoshop tool (and coincidently an actual make up tool) that smooths out the skin and makes it look flawless

I know what it is... I just think if people have to resort to using it then they are actively deceiving others
