There was a time the salesmen used an engineer to apply latest scientific advances to their products. Now they just add random things and make up the science. It started with shampoo (not my personal field of expertise - the stress of working out which shampoo was best made my hair fall out  )
Still I'm off to sell your idea of a pyramid shaped hand-drier, it's a winner | |||

The Highest frequency the human eye can detect is Violet The product you are talking about UVC Plasma which emits radiation within the visible spectrum. True Ultra Violet is beyond the visible spectrum so you won't see it. The Highest frequency the human eye can detect is Violet
The product you are talking about UVC Plasma which emits radiation within the visible spectrum. I think someone mention UV and I was just clarifying where the 'Blue' light was coming from

Now back to the kitchen sink"UVC has a shorter wavelength than UVA and UVB (the buggers that burn you) and could be called ultra ultra violet (but it's not). It's not being used directly to kill bugs (cos that would be dangerous to peeps)..rather to produce lone oxygen...ozone...free radicals..to ionise the air...to produce "plasma"...whatever name for the same thing you prefer..which kills bacteria. And yes it also emits visible blue light. Not denying that this technology exists...the point I'm making is that manufacturers latch on to stuff like this and use it to bullshit people. Hence the silly blue LEDs on every hand dryer. Surpised they haven't included "quantum" in there somewhere. | |||
