(Nessa)

There once was a strong Indian warrior watching the Crows flying through the sky near his camp. He to longed for the power of flight and set off to find the Medicine man.

He asked the old and wise Medicine man “How can a crow fly and I can not?

The Medicine man thought for a while and asked back “Why would you want to fly?

The Warrior laugh and said “Oh great Medicine man, I would have more power and be even a greater Warrior. Tell me the secret”.

Again the Medicine man sat quietly looking into the fire.

“It is in the feathers that Crow can fly and you cannot.” he said

The Warrior sat dumbfounded….and spoke “If I place a thousand feathers on my body, find the highest peak and jump I will surly die. So why can Crow fly and I can not?”

The Medicine man looked up from the fire with burning eyes and said

“Crow believes in the magic in the feathers. And if you had so much faith in your abilities as the Crow in his feathers…..you could achieve anything. It is lack of faith and self doubt that holds you down”

The Warrior walked away with his head hung and whispered under his breath….

“Crazy old man. I did not want to fly anyway”

I actually was inspired by this.

We can all do what we strive to do. We just need to believe it is reachable and within ourselves.

Up on them there hills

Here is a lot of wisdom in the Native American people stories, anthropology at a memetic level tells us who we are.

Right, back to who wants to fuck.

Doesn't that kind sound like the old classic "I didn't want to fuck you anyway, you fat slag"?

Im glad, it is lovely if you read it a couple of times....

I catch myself with self doubts still to this day....I always think of the Medicine man and the frustrated warrior in me.

I suggest you start from the ground instead of a very tall building.... I'm not sure how much faith you'll have while plummeting

Rotherham

Reminds me of a song by Guy Clark called The Cape. I always loved the great payoff line at the end, "He did not know he could not fly...so he did."

I get a huge lift out of reading Desiderata. So much to learn about "self" from it.
