For us, they seem to fall into two categories. First, as they should be, an indication of interest, that when we follow up turns into a nice chat.

The second, people who fire them out willy-nilly and struggle to contruct a sentence.

I guess some people just ignore winks because they get so many of the second type?

A wink suggests that you are interested in someone although not sure if they would be interested in you. Also it could be that you like the look of someone but not sure what to say.

A wink means they are sick to death of mailing people and getting no replies. So instead they wink everyone in a 200 mile radius in a desperate attempt to get a response.

Any.

Fucking.

Response.

I always look at people that winked me. If I'm interested I wink back or mail them. I don't give a shit if my first paragraph is true. If I like them and they like me then we can meet. I don't care how we 'first make the connection'.

I don't need ego massage to have a shag. I treat people as I want to be treated. If it works I'm happy.

I've never sent a wink, because too many people get grumpy about them.

Very rarely receive winks but when I do, I usually send a polite response - if only to say thanks for the interest.

One person kept winking repeatedly, until I got fed up and had to block them.
