I have just had two fresh oysters.

Having had them before, I still can't decide whether they are absolutely wonderful or vomit-inducing. They are on the cusp of both.

A bit like extreme sex.

Good sex is good.

Oysters are just slimy and gross.

"oysters are like licking phlegm off a tortoise!!!"

How the fuck did you end up locking phlegm off a tortoise?

Poor tortoise, getting gobbed on by random strangers...

Not for me ta. I used to give them away and keep the scallops when I was diving for them.

little house on the praire

Oddly, im a bit of a snob when it comes to oysters, have to be big fat juicy pacific ones. Hard to get but im happy to hold out for them and not have something inferior.

Now if i lived in oban id live on them

I tried them once, which is how I found out I was allergic to them. Projectile vomiting isn't sexy!

I'm not a fan of them raw, but they are lovely cooked

I'm allergic to molluscs like squid and scallops so I'd imagine oysters would be the same...don't think I'll test out this theory anytime soon!

I'm not a huge fan of sea food.

I apparantley used to eat Winkles when I was younger.

But today I only eat Cod or Tuna.

Very boring I know.

Id happily live off Shellfish, despite it apparently not being good for the cholesterol levels.

I enjoyed Oysters, more so when warmed through...

Yum

there is a seafood hut right next to the ferry port in oban and i could happily spend the rest of my life just eating from there

Iceland, but Aldi is closer..

Can't beat Essex rock oysters.

Slimy, yep but real tasty with some shallot vinegar and a splash of tabasco..

Also good battered and deep fried, the Thorn at Mistley in Essex does the best fried scallops around.

I adore seafood, but not raw oysters.

Cooked ones are fine though.

Remind me not to try Welsh oysters..

Think I'll stick with me local ones.

I am not sure myself.

I first tried in the South of France.

I still can't work out whether they are lovely are vomit-inducing.
