The answer for you both: slowly place foot under said animals, then sharply raise it, kick the buggers off. Simples!

My 2 yr old son does it, he'll deliberately do something to distract me and make me get up, then he's in my seat like lightening and tapping on my phone or changing the TV channels!

Dogs have owners,

Cats have slaves!

Is this really how evolution should have panned out!!

My cat doesn't nick my seat, hardly ever gets on the furniture, other than my bed at night, he just follows me around weaving between my feet and trips me up.

West Wales

We have two & three sweater sofas, H & I usually sit on the two seater. The dog will look at both and decice he wants to sit with us rather than on the empty one.

Which would be cute, if he wasn't a nine stone Akita..

Whatever you do don't get a dedicated plinth type structure for your cat, I've often been warned against putting the pussy on a pedestal

Cats like houses, not people.

David byrne said this but he also said aliens think factories are musical instruments. Take from that what you will.

Our cat opens doors by jumping At the handle so you can't keep her out of anywhere.

Both our cats nick the dog's bed on a regular basis. He could swallow them both whole if he wanted to, but he's too much of a gentleman.

This is all our downstairs doors to stop the dog getting in places she shouldn't while we are out
