We're not an alien race but I can understand that a younger man might feel intimidated.

I would say approach an older woman as you would any woman, don't make the classic mistake of adding "for your age" to any compliments you pay though and bear in mind that all women are different. Spark up a conversation and take it from there.

I was just thinking about this. I don't know if it's true for all women but as I've grown older I haven't changed essentially but I am less likely to tolerate fools, not interested in "banter", unlikely to enjoy certain pubs or clubs and probably wouldn't eat a kebab. When I was younger I might have done all those things

Dont go on about the age thing to them, just speak as you would someone your own age, but you will find some older women ( me for example) might be harder to find common ground for general conversation.

Id have no idea about pop music or the latest games console.

Try and think of subjects before you message that are not age related
