I noticed someone has and no idea why, I must have said something they disagreed with. Do you block people on the forum ?

Seems strange to me when you've never interacted with them.

Are we allowed to discuss it if not mods let me know?

I can't see the point in blocking people for their forum opinions as you still see their forum posts. I don't bother looking at forumite profiles so no idea if anyone has blocked me.

I have in the past if they'd PM'd me and I didn't want them to. Interestingly, my block list this time around is currently empty, but I've spotted at least 5 forum users who've got me blocked

I block all sorts of people I've never met, for a plethora of reasons. A few forum posts have made me stroll into Block Land. Equally, I'm entirely sure lots of peeps block me. Just one of those things.

I do if I get a sense that they are a bit of twat, an one off twat could be deemed as the just having a bad day and I'll overlook it but if it's a continued/regular occur acne they aren't the sort of person I'd want to pm me so I block

But at the minute I can't meet so my profiles hidden and everyone's blocked from messaging me

I'm never the first to block. I do counter block if I notice someone blocked me. Just as a way to hide my profile if they do a sneaky unblock to peek.

I don't care what reasons they had. It was obviously important to them at the time.

Yes i block for many reasons ....quite extensively in fact as the filtering system is inadequate in many ways.

I've never blocked anyone,I probably been blocked by someone but I tend to keep my thoughts to myself a lot,but if I do say something wrong then I tend to realise that I must suffer from accidental foot in mouth syndrome at the time

I have done.....and I'm sure it's probably happened to me. If you are not compatible with someone then why not? Where's the harm? You are never likely to want to interact directly anyway.

I've done the same with local people with hideous pics....don't want to see them in my updates.....saves on eye bleach!

Yes. ..go to top right click options....write a note first why and then return and block.

If I think I've blocked someone because I think they're an arse and then I realise they're not, I will unblock them but this is very rare.

The majority that I've blocked prove time and time again that my impression of them being a nasty, spiteful, vindictive arsehole was right the first time.

We haven't & have no idea if we are, though as S doesn't tend to cast a line more than once in any part of the stream I see no reason for it.

But then fish are always free to swim elsewhere in the river so we may come across them again in the future..

To me the forums at times do give an insight on someones thoughts & what they may be like in person which is a lot better than a carfully worded profile.

It may sound petty however i find the forums a better way of seeing how a person is and whether i'd actually get on with them in person.

I wouldn't block someone because we disagree but i would if i got the impression that in person we wouldn't get on at all.

I never block anyone for their opinion on here; it seems a bit presumptive on my part that they would bother looking at my profile anyway. I may use private notes though if someone really rubs me up the wrong way with their opinions; there may be a few people with "Probably a cunt. Avoid like the plague if they get in touch" type notes appended. But they'll never know, care or find out. Conversely, I've been blocked by loads of people on the forum so I'm probably a cunt.
