I have a christening next week so I've bought a dress. It's knee length. I have the shoes but I'm having a leg dilemma...

Bare legs? Bearing in mind that I'm as white as a white thing and I don't do fake tan.

Tights? Apparently nude tights have to be matt and not sheer... are black tights too wintery?

This is why I wear trousers!

Any help gratefully received!

I wear black opaque tights pretty much all year round, so I don't think September is too early for them. Otherwise you can get some really natural looking nude tights now, they don't have to be like the shiny 1980s ones

I only own black opaque tights so that's my usual fall back but the dress is black down one side and white down the other with a whole pile of red flowers in the middle (which makes it sound hideous!)

Can I still do black but make them 15 denier rather than 150?

Yep. I also own a few pairs of 15 denier tights with a seamed back so they look like Cuban heeled stockings but are much easier to deal (pulling them on like tights means the seams stay straight and there are no suspender clips to contend with). Including a couple of pairs of very matte nude ones with a black seam.

If you have red shoes then matt nude, if they're black you could go for 10 / 15 denier tights or stockings.

Shoes are black... I fear I'd look like it was fancy dress if I went with red tights. I'm not sure I could pull those off... so to speak!

I went to a christening the other weekend and wore knee length dress with Matt nude tights. It doesn't look like I have any on in the pictures. Spend bit more and they look natural but take away that pale leg edge.

You know you want to go American Tan.

Black tights in 7, 10 or 15 denier will be fine and won't look too dark on your glowing white legs.

I'm sort of attached to being pale... I'd never manage to get fake tan that doesn't look streaky and I'm not sure I want a spray tan.
