I struggle with modern horror. It rarely scares me.

It all depends on what genre of horror frightens you. Gore, ghosts, creatures, psychologicals, or just good old stalk and slash.

Will have a look at some of these. Seen a few of them already!

I'm a fan of the ones that make you think about it after and then get even more freaked. Also like a lot of gore so films like saw etc.

Scream the TV series is quite good, as is American Horror story.

Film wise how about Drag me to hell, Event Horizon, The Babadook

Ooo i went to the cinema to see that one when it came out. I enjoyed it. I've never seen dracula. Vampires aren't really my thing

And an old 60s film called The Innocents - based on The Turning Of The Screw - is good for subtlety too. Very similar atmosphere to The Others IMO.

And the original Poltergeist!

I've only seen Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark once, what happened to Katie Holmes's character at the end really freaked me out!

I always mention the Poughkeepsie tapes as it terrified me for weeks if you can be bothered with subtitles we watched a really good Argentinian ghost/horror on Netflix the other night called Resurrection xx kat

I also like Rec, Rosemarys Baby is a classic and the Purge films. I don't like gory gross horror. More low key scares or creepy ones. Okay Rec is a bit gory but the last ten mins are very creepy
