Surely then the fish or fishes could then be classed as mammals?

Why are you thinking about this? Haha but I dunno if man engineered a fish to live on land then surely it would be a new mammal species that looks like a fish... tbh I haven't got a clue I'm done

Ie. they produce milk from Mammary glands which is why they are defined as mammals?

"If a fish is on land does it make it mammal?"

No. A mammal has teats and it's offspring suckle. It also give birth to live young. Like whales - which are NOT fish.

A mammal isn't any land dwelling animal.

Mamals are warm-blooded higher vertebrates that feed their young with milk secreted by mammary glands and have skin usually more or less covered with hair not all but some exceptions like dolphins. It's not about their breathing as some may think.

Mammals' jawbones are connected to the skull.

They are warm blooded ( endothermic) , generally have hair and ( with the exception of monotremes) give birth to live offspring, which generally feed via milk.

They also breath air via lungs.
