Iceland, but Aldi is closer..

This is what I love about these sites and the forums or blogs in particular..

People are very accepting of each other, there is no bigotry, it's just not accepted.

Where else on the net could you openly say I am gay, bi, cross dresser, black, white...? That would be tant amount to an open request to a barrage of abuse and insults on almost any other blog.

Whether or not I meet anyone is irrelevant, the main draw of these sites is the ability to be open with other human beings without fear of ridicule or abuse..

I love all of you for being who you are...open and accepting.

if only all of societies were the same as that, the world would be a truly beautiful place.

Im proud to be a Scouser as well. We are often given a bad name by people who are not proper scousers (they are of the plastic variety), but true scousers would give a stranger the shirt off their back to make sure the stranger was ok.

I'm also proud to be a army vet, dad to 4 beautiful kids (1 is my nephew but I see him as my son) and also a tolerant person who doesn't care about colour, creed, race etc etc etc.

"I'm straight, and proud to be a quarter irish and 3 quarters english

Which parts of you are English and which parts of you are Irish? I've always wondered how people work this out.

2 nans, 2 Grandad's, 1 Irish 3 English = 1 out of 4 is a quarter. 1/4 Irish, 3/4 english

Does this way of thinking not depend on where you were born as well, though? As in, if you're born in England that would mean that you'd be 1 part Irish to 4 parts English?

Hmm im not sure to be honest, if your parents were Irish but you were born in England, what would you consider yourself? "

I'd likely consider myself English, as that's where I was born, with Irish descendency/heritage.

I find this a fascinating topic. Everyone has a different view on who they are as an individual, with so many variables going into that equation. Not to mention the views of those outside of the individual in question shaping both the individual's perception and that of society.

I sound like a pompous twat, don't I, haha

"Proud to work for the organisation I do.

Proud to be from Liverpool even with the negative comments regarding Scousers here and elsewhere.

Proud to be a graduate and lastly proud that I'm becoming a more tolerant person since being on this site, especially the forums.

Most of all I'm proud to be able to say how much I love my wife each and every day

M

X"

Helping people makes me feel content,it doesn't make me feel proud. I can feel pride for others but not for myself.

I'm proud to be where I am now, I had a life most would die for , big car big house nice clothes but I wasn't happy.

I left and it wasn't easy , 5 yrs down the line I'm struggling being a single working mum to make ends meet my son wants designer clothes etc, but I'm very grounded so try to install that in my children. But if I've got it il give it to them and il go without easily.

I wouldn't change it even though my life's poo at times

I'm proud to be bi sexual.

I'm proud I try with my ex gf.

I'm proud that I had the strength to show everyone it's my life and my body so I will live it for me.

I'm proud that after she cheated I had the strength to move on.

I'm proud I have met the guy I want now.

But most of all I'm proud through all the bad and good I'm still smiling and I have found my true happiness again being the way I want to be X

I did the same a year ago too. I'm much happier now, despite being utterly skint most of the time.
