"Ask you not to wear perfume when you meet them.

When I first started meeting and didn't ask about marital status a guy turned up with shower gel and perfume and asked me to shower and spray the perfume as they were what his wife wore and he didn't want to leave a scent trail!

Needless to say he was promptly sent packing!

I always thought the most obvious sign (on a man) was that haunted, desperate, terrified look of resignation in the eyes that all married men have.

Or is that just my eyes?

{runs and hides}

Oh, and when they get a text asking them to get some milk on the way home...

There are a lot of people that wont admit to being in relationships on sites like this. If your meeting 'single' profiles then there's always a chance that it will happen unfortunately.

A world of my own

As someone who is the other woman and has been for years.. knowing the reality of him leaving my bed to return to their picture perfect home is horrible.

Knowing I love a man who will never choose me is heartbreaking

Being let down is painful.

He has on one occasion been a bit funny after I sprayed some perfume. I did it without thinking. It hurt and still does but that's the reality. As much as I want him to leave her I also know it won't happen and its now me who is more careful about things than he is. Its okay for me to get hurt but I know she doesn't deserve it. These situations never play out well on here. Usually the married person is some selfish fuck wit in the eyes of the forumites and women like me are heartless and uncaring or deluded.

Fact is both are probably true in many ways.

There are countless threads and judgements made on "cheats"

I try to avoid them usually.

Reality is we are all adults and we all have faults.

When halfway through the meet they get a call from their other half and have the phones volume so high that you can hear both sides of the conversation.

This actually happened to me with someone who had claimed to unattached. I wasn't impressed.

"Lovely judgemental thread guys.

Only if you allow it to be, Miss H.

I just blindly assume threads like this are tongue-in-cheek and treat them accordingly

I've seen this thread subject before, starts out as a giggle, possibly the true intention, doesn't take long for them to turn.

I think if people concentrated on what they were doing and had some fun instead of being full of righteous judgemental indignation about something that's nothing to do with them, life would be a lot more fun.

I'm out.

I know what you're saying Markoh but is it the people playing away that aren't quite so amused with this thread

Nope.

My hubby knows.

It's the sheer number of people on a swinging site slating other humans they know nothing about. "

Look I'm not going to get all serious because I know the absolute devastation an affair causes, myself and my children know all to well, but to be honest thread's like this may actually help someone in knowing some of the signs. I would go absolutely ape shit if someone lied to me,yes I know someone may well have done that already, but that's the chance I take,I don't meet quickly so if someone does they may get bored and move on.

"Say you'll meet at their's and see their reaction obviously there are a multitude of reasons as well

Yeah the amount of men in their 30's and 40's "sharing with a mate" is staggering

So every single man in his 30s and 40s is expected to own a property now?

Yep

Good luck with that"

Haha of course i don't expect that, but in real life i don't know one single person, male or female, of that age sharing with mates, plenty married, and plenty living alone though.

I'm not saying it doesnt happen of course, i was commenting on the amount on here who say they do. Tongue in cheek

Wails* I don't want some husband/wife phoning me up and hurling abuse at me.....

Don't give strangers your phone number or use a burner.

Wails* I don't want some husband/wife turning up on my doorstep causing a scene.

Don't tell strangers where you live or invite them into your home.

Couldn't be that easy could it?

His underwear has been ironed.

Before he leaves he always has to ask "Do you know where my car keys are, dear?"

He always meekly puts the toilet seat down.

He asks you to hide in the wardrobe whenever the doorbell goes.

He has no idea of the price of a pint of milk.

When asked his favourite biscuit he tells you he's not allowed biscuits.

When asked his opinion on any topic, he has to check with the wife first.

During foreplay he has to keep checking his 'to do' list (Mrs ddc helpfully sticks post-it notes on her body with instructions - I'm totally lost without them)

When you swallow, he faints in shock

Mostly I think single women are honest about it. As ever it's the honesty not the action. People are trying to spot men playing away as they do so more on here and are less likely to be honest about it.

I've seen this thread subject before, starts out as a giggle, possibly the true intention, doesn't take long for them to turn.

"He has no idea of the price of a pint of milk.

Don't agree with a to do list?

How would he read it with the lights off? "

That's why I always insist on a candlelit scene. It's not romance, just practicality

"Say you'll meet at their's and see their reaction obviously there are a multitude of reasons as well

Yeah the amount of men in their 30's and 40's "sharing with a mate" is staggering

So every single man in his 30s and 40s is expected to own a property now?

Yep

Good luck with that

Haha of course i don't expect that, but in real life i don't know one single person, male or female, of that age sharing with mates, plenty married, and plenty living alone though.

I'm not saying it doesnt happen of course, i was commenting on the amount on here who say they do. Tongue in cheek

All your single friends must be minted so or else the rent in derbyshire is piss cheap!!"

To be fair I don't know anyone in their 40's or 50's that live in shared accommodation/with parents either and I live in London!

"Aww bless. Why the upset people? You got no sense of humour?

My thoughts exactly. I've yet to see any condemnation. Perhaps it's guilt "

People who incessantly discuss & generalise cheating as if to amplify their disgust of it. After all it could only ever be others but not them playing away

Could be a sign. After all cheaters usually display a great veneer

"Anyone that cannot accommodate anyone else be it a single fem, single male or a couple....can only be a clue to cheating

Or it it only when single males cannot accom that is the case

I never assume that about single men as I have the same problem!"

We don't automatically think it but definitely makes us suspicious.

"I apologise if anyone is offended, it was just a Sunday morning laugh. It's just a forum , the Internet, not to be taken too seriously. I'll go back to trying to find Peter Parker.

Theres nobody offended, relax with the apologies

Not NOT offended.

just these threads usually bring out the -holier than thou' types sneering at people they don't know.

I have stopped judging due to a very sad experience.

How is having a giggle at tell take signs the same as 'judging' someone? "

I couldn't work that out either...but hey ho!

I can't accommodate but not because I have a partner. One reason is I don't want a stranger at my home because I last time I ended up with a stalker.

I can only meet in the day when my daughter is at school and I'm about as single as they come!

Cannot accommodate always rings alarm bells, won't upload face pictures.

Female grooming products in the bathroom as another poster mentioned or family photos/general stuff you'd find in a women's handbag in the background. These kind of pictures crack me up. If you're going to cheat and deceive people at least be half way good at it!

He arrives bearing a face-mask with a picture of his wife on it, asks you to put it on, then spends the whole time sobbing uncontrollably "Oh Marge*, I'm so, so sorry"

Or is that just me?

"If the thread is so lighthearted, why no funny comments on clues to spot if women are playing away?

It's just been ways to spot married men playing away

"

There was one further up...easy to overlook but it's there! Can't control who answers...*maybe* men don't care?!!

"When they're upfront enough to tell you in the first place maybe? "

This is what I'd say!

The vast majority of men I've met on fab have been honest enough to let me know if they're in a relationship - so I can make my own mind up whether to see them or not - it's one of the things I like most about fab!

And proportionally I'd imagine there are just as many women 'playing away' (for their own reasons!) as there are men!

I never assume it's because they're married, I assume it's because they think they're house is sacrosanct whilst mine is a knocking shop!

Hence I no longer meet anyone who can't accommodate.

I have a car seat because I'm a carer to children with additional needs and disabilities

I have 3 car seats and only 1 child "

Do a lot of people on here, have no faith in themselves, to be able to read another person? When you chat to someone, surely you get what they're about?

Their reasons, their business and up to them. But for sure it's not unique to single males as many would foolishly suggest.

How can you know if someone is married just by chatting to them. I dont expect or want to hear their life story i just want a bit of sex and company for an hour.

1. Numbers - more non-single single men than women so a greater problem.

2. Cheating is viewed differently by the genders.
