I think there's probably a few different views to it. For some it's a way to get the sex they want so they can focus on enjoying that no matter who it's with, and for some like sex workers maybe more a case of switching off and going to another place mentally

When i used to do gangbangs i didnt need attraction it was about getting what i wanted although i still had basic levels i couldnt have had sex with someone who was dirty or i found repulsive. i dont do gangbangs now and couldnt have sex with someone i wasnt attracted too
