Sugar and processed foods. Eat a good breakfast and lunch and a small dinner. Protein rich. Plenty of vegetables and water. Walking is good also but I enjoy going to the gym for classes, swimming and saunas. You can't lose weight from a specific area but it'll come off from all over. Good luck, ps don't lose too much, chunkier men are sexy

You want to lose belly fat? You need to one thing and one thing only. Exercise your abdomen. Do manageable repetitions of situps. Start with 12, 10,and 8. Do 3 sets of 30 a day and increase the reps as you build strength. If you haven't got something that resembles a 6 pack in 4 weeks then you're not doing it right.

"Eat less. It really *is* that simple. Mr ddc" No its not. My with was but on a strict diet in hospital about 20 years ago with daily exercise in the physiotherapy unit. She was 29 stone and was in hospital fro a month to lose weight except she put on half a stone during that time instead of losing weight. That was what made them decide to give her a stomach bypass operation. After the op she lost 1 stone a month and has been a stable nine and a half stone for the past 18 years. However her physiology has changed and she cannot stand certain foods and smells for example the smell of roast chicken makes her physically sick. There is far more to losing weight in many cases than simply eating less which can prompt the body to start laying down fat.

"Mr ddc There is far more to losing weight in many cases than simply eating less which can prompt the body to start laying down fat." Now I'm no dietitian, but basic physics shows you cannot increase weight without eating to excess. Losing weight can be more tricky, since if you reduce your calories too dramatically, your body simply reduces your metabolic rate to compensate. (Hence the dieting 'plateau' with the subsequent risk of weight rebound once you come off the diet) But of course this is what all the money-making diet and gym programmes rely on. It is also why sensible eating and moderate exercise is by far the most effective long-term way to lose weight, and keep it off. In a few cases it is also about tackling the emotional reasons behind overeating, but I don't think that's the OP's problem...

" According to your pic it did not ! You are skinny a sign of less calories consumed than expended, your situps did not make your legs or arms string thin It is correct that increasing muscle mass will indeed increase bezel metabolic rate, but quads back gluteus and pectoral muscle mass will increase ones bmr far more than 10 grams extra ab mass and the abs are notoriously hard to increase their mass Perfecting a good dead lift or squat will indeed recruit more abdominal fibers with greater load than any situp , they will also burn quadruple the energy for the same time expended ,build more muscle , and vastly increase the post work out after burn metabolic rate than any abdominal isolation exercise x Spot reduction of fat is not possible , abdominal crunches etc only slightly increase the muscle size under the fat Subcutaneous fat, as a fuel is left until last as the body will consume the majority of hidden , visceral fat first , hence why for most even outwardly thin people , the belly is the last area of fat to lose Hormones and genetics play a part in which area the body leaves till last but usually only obtaining very low body fat levels will permit access to the final abdominal muscle reveal There are some tricks of the trade but they are not for the casual person wanting to lose a little more fat The majority have it right Eat regularly , balanced meals which contain a daily total 10 % less than you expend Increase your activity levels by any means you enjoy Reduce alcohol I found it interesting that above someone suggested that dieting did not work but a bypass did ? They are exactly the same , thus we know she was cheating on the diet A diet is simply reducing calorific input till the body recognises a deficit she did not need the bypass, but only to consume the same small amount that her now bypassed intestines allow It is also to be noted that if a weight reduction diet is being successful, then the very act of weight reduction will reduce the bmr and the calorific intake needs to be adjusted accordingly

" They are exactly the same , thus we know she was cheating on the diet" No she was not cheating, the food in the ward was controlled by the nurses she had no access to any addition food or drink other than what she was given. As for a bypass it has an effect on the brain that scientists are only now beginning to realise, after a bypass the body physically rejects certain foods, even the smell of certain foods triggers reaction, including vomiting (this is sometimes confused with the dumping syndrome), the reason is not yet understood, it may be due to the hormonal changes that take place after bariatric surgery I am not referring to having to sip small quantities of liquid to enable one to eat rather than drinking before a meal but being caused to vomit by the smell of food being cooked. Such a reaction has not been noticed with other methods of gastric reduction such as the gastric band, gastric balloon or gastric sleeves, though dumping syndrome has. It has also been shown that such vomiting is not as was once thought caused by thiamin deficiency or indeed vitamin B12 deficiency. But hey you obviously know more than people who have been researching such things for many years

You suggest her metabolism was x before the OP and lower than x after the OP Metabolism being the efficiency the body uses fuel to support the life form Yet you suggest I'm wrong in stating the fact that the bypass reduced the calorific input below that which the body needed and thus needed to draw on fat reserves I too have been studying this for over 25 years , cut below 7 percent fat and achieved these results with clients I respect science , and am perfectly aware of what we don't know But if she had been fed correctly she would have lost weight . That is beyond doubt . I'm also sure she would have been irritable and hungry I can also explain why having cut from 1500 cals a day to 1200 , I have INCREASED my weight by a kilo and I know not every one in the medial profession would know why ?

"Apparently that chlorine smell that you get in swimming pools is the reaction of the chlorinated water with urine. I think for men the body wants to put fat on around the belly, and you will always lose this last. I look on the positive side: unexplained weight loss would be a lot more worrying." The majority of men put on weight around there stomach / waist when reaching the age of 40, this is when there body slows down the production of testosterone and from this age it continues to reduce so men put on weight and do not feel as energetic as they did in youth which also makes it more difficult to shed the weight. . " Clen is just a stimulant and appetite supresent which has an affinity to kill heart muscle cells. So id advise against it. It's also could increase fat burning however it's minuscule in reality. Growth hormone is a minefield to buy (unless you know a vertically challenged individual who is happy to sell their prescribed supply) and although good for fat loss it's entirely not worth the money unless you have £2-400 a month just burning a hole In your pocket. Eat better. Move more. Drugs are great by if you don't know what you're doing you're at best throwing money down the drain and at worst, well, just google DNP deaths.

TRT helps some men " trt??

"I do taekwondo 3x a week and skate 6hrs a weekend and have no fat anywhere, but a larger than it should be belly. Fifty sits up, 5 plank reps each morning and its firm, strong, but still no 6-pack washboard. Stay away from processed carbs (including bread and fruit juice), focus on protein and unprocessed fats (although cheese and butter are ok) plus unprocessed vegetables and fruit and drink mainly unflavoured water. Bacon (not smoked, not streaky), eggs, mushrooms, tomato, are ok for breakfast, so it doesn't need to be bland. No toast or bread. Overall, when hungry, drink a pint of water and wait 10minutes, it could have been thirst. If still hungry then protein from meat or veg (nuts) and fats (nuts, avocado) and a bit of exercise and it should vanish quickly and not return. " age doesn't help. Reading in between the lines

"Eat less? Jesus I better stop eating altogether then Im not a big eater (unless someone cooks for me) im very active but still have a slight spread going on. Personally I think I need a GOOD ab work out Or maybe its my age and im doomed" You don't. I've never directly trained Abbs, yet have then. Excercising a certain body part will not lead to fat reduction in that area. The body doesn't work that way. Perhaps you're not a big eater, but it's amazing how many people say that yet have 3-4 cans of pop and sugar in their tea and 6 cans on a night every night. Everything you out in your face counts. Easiest way (particularly for men) to drop weight is to: A. Go for a brisk walk in the mornings before anything else. B. Stop drinking calories. Two very easy links in a very long and often conveluted chain. If you can do that for a month then you can look at where your calories come from and other forms of excercise, nutrient timing, macros, blah blah blah. If anyone needs any actual real world help then drop me a line. I'll try and help out as best I can.

"Hi looking to loose around a stone or so and could use a few tips as im probably not working out as often or as hard as i should. Any advice on whats worked for you would be appreciated." You can eat what you like but remember to burn off more than you eat..cardio weight based routines or cardio body weight routines are good. Just don't do any sit ups as it will make your stomach look bigger. Don't eat carbs after 7-8pm. There's foods that supposedly target the fat on your stomach. Google them. Get a routine for home. If you go to the gym..do more reps and less weights to get a sweat on and tone instead of bulking and getting bigger

" Everyone is different. I can't take credit for being lean; You can. Your metabolism is at it's peak. From now on, unless you decrease your intake, you will slowly gain weight. I was 8½ stone until my late 20s, then steadily gained about ½ a stone a year. " "When you're younger, you can eat what you like, drink what you like, and still climb in to your 26-inch-waist trousers and zip them closed. Then you reach that age- 24, 25- your muscles give up, they wave a little white flag, and without any warning at all, you're suddenly a fat bastard." Carter USM

"Dont know there is a science behind it but i down a pint of dilute pop/water after every meal and i also very very rarely snack. My dinner and tea can be fucking huge and i dont put weight on. I am quite active though so that helps Stay away from fizzy pop, it doesnt hydrate you so you retain water and remember that bread is the devil " that was my downfall I used to love toast I put went upto 15 stone then I stopped eating bread now I'm back to 11 stone

"Belly fat apparently is the hardest to shift as its a different kind of fat to what youd find in other places on the body as its where we naturally store fat i read somewhere but small changes in habbits help like taking the stairs instead of lifts walk to the shop instead of driving things like that and eat better where you can. I used to take the dog for a jog rather than a walk and try to go a bit further or faster each time. Good luck to you tho the hardest part is getting up off the sofa once youve done that its all gravy " this is true I started walking too and from work 6 miles a day and cutting bread out I went from a 36 waist I now fit in a 30 waist again

" That is nonsense do not listen !! Or alternatively give it a go and see what happens. He's right though mate... you can not target specific body area fat loss, you can target specific body area muscle growth. Er yeah and by targeting the promotion of muscle growth he will lose fat in the process. The army have been doing it with chubby lads for 200 years before people managed to jab Google with their fingers. It worked for me so I'm just giving my point of view. " They are taking advantage of what is/are known as "newbie gains". If you are untrained, for the first few months of progressive overload, you can gain muscle in a deficit. Once they are gone, to gain, you need to be eating in suplus, to lose; in deficit.

"Cut carbs. Train 6 times a week. Get obsessed. Oh, and the single biggest difference came when I gave up cows milk. You know, that liquid we drink and ferment into cheese that's designed solely to make a 65lb calf into a 400lb cow as fast as possible?! You don't need that blocker in your way of your mission. Lose dairy in all forms. " If losing dairy gives you big breasts then I'm sticking to milk. Don't want moobs
