If you've made a complaint and the acknowledgement says a response will be made in x number of days..

If you don't get any response in that time would you make a complaint about the complaints procedure not being followed?

I chased earlier this week and was tolfd a response would be with me that afternoon, still nothing

if only the mods worked so slowly

No, I double the time they say, then resend my original letter along with a covering note explaining that I have assumed my original was lost in the post. This method usually shames them into replying by return.
