I have arrived in my Birmingham hotel and once again reaffirmed my belief that Birmingham is the worst place in the UK to drive around.

Anyone care to nominate somewhere else?

Got to be Bradford, not only is the City diabolical to get through or round during the day but at other times some drivers totally ignore traffic lights, stop signs and the traffic islands are used for dodging either side. Its like the wacky races.

Bristol. Both the ever changing city centre and the ring road which swallows you in like an unsuspecting duck on the rapids and spits you out nowhere near where you need to be.

The motorway network around Manchester. Smart my arse.

The entirety of the M6.

Actually, on reflection, any roads where there are other people. Can I have the M Heels that only I (and a select few following a vigorous application process) can use please?

"London by far it's like whacky races"

You need to do as we locals do and adopt the London approach to traffic: fuck the Highway Code it's always your own right of way! I couriered around central for a few years and it isn't that bad once you know your way around.

I've driven on Greek Islands and that's a bit manic, forget which side of the road you're meant to be on just drive in the centre like the locals do.

London is simple if you drive an old, dented car and drive with confidence - everyone else just steers clear.

You only need to understand two rules for driving in Italy and they are:

2. If it gets there first it has right of way

Simple really

London is easy to drive in,just remember the rules

1 taxis will stop without warning an pull u turns no matter what

2 expect motor bike to come up either side of when no real gaps to pass

3 push bike riders who don't think the Highway Code is meant for an will go through red lights mount an dismount pavements without warning an when you hit them blame you

4cars don't worry to much they are just as scared as you an will give way every time

5 lorries to big to get up to a decent speed so you get in front all the time

6 the biggest problem is tourist,if your near a major sightseeing site they will just step out into road with out looking an wonder why you didn't stop for them so they can take photos

Best thing to drive around London is the magic white van, unwritten rule is who ever gets to the front gets the right of way .

"I have arrived in my Birmingham hotel and once again reaffirmed my belief that Birmingham is the worst place in the UK to drive around.

Glastonbury is pretty rough...lots of off road, rattly trackway, lots of waiting about for wagons and plant machinery to get out the way, stuck behind toilet trucks and tractors constantly, various one way systems and vehicle pass systems allowing you into certain areas at certain times so you have to alter your route accordingly, often plenty of mud and thick crowds to drive through in places.

BUT....for half an hour in the early hours of the morning, one day a year, just before it opens, i get to use it as my own personal racetrack
