Do you mean through the city centre itself? Totally depends on the time but it's pretty pants at the minute due to all the work they are doing on the roads in the centre lots of confusing diversions.

Bristol

M5 - M6 motorway junction is always a nightmare at rush hour and other times during the day

the city center is just like Bristols for traffic pretty busy but slow moving

Junctions 5 to 10a are a complete nightmare. As they are doing major roadworks into the city it's just a nightmare.

If you can I'd advise drive up as late as possible. Or at night!

Failing that. I'd go on the m6 toll. It cuts out all the traffic and is relatively unused.

I'm glad I moved to Wales. Only thing I hated about brum was the traffic.
