Russian Roulette V Bareback

Ok, everytime a bareback thread pops up we all have a bet on who will make the comparison to the ill fated game of Russian Roulette.

So below I've explained it a bit (again), just to clarify that there are no similarities what so ever between the two.

Russian roulette involves a hand gun loaded with just one bullet, the barrel is spun, then each person puts the gun to their own head and pulls the trigger, obviously hoping they don't spread their brains on the wall, death is pretty much instantaneous from this, where as if playing bareback, and you catch an unfortunate STD, you still have time to seek medical attention.

Survival rate is pretty much higher.

Short but simple, I hope this helps with your understanding of both.

Enjoy your day sexy people.

Did I read somewhere that if you spin the barrel before every shot is fired in Russian roulette you stand a chance that nobody will die since the bullets weight means that chamber is always at the bottom?

Exactly this, you may end up with a treatable STD in which case, its not ideal, but not the end of the world.

However, what about herpes which isn't curable? Or mentioned, HIV?

You take your life in your hand each time you play bare, hence why it's compared to Russian Roulette

It's not a risk though if you have sex with someone that doesn't have diseases. I ONLY fuck bare back, it's all I've ever done my whole life bar 1 time. I hate condoms, I like cum inside me and the guy to eat out of me afterwards.

My method doesn't work for spontaneous NSA meets but that's not what I'm looking for anyway. I'm open and honest about what I want to do I've had all clear results since I last had unprotected sex and any guy that I'm going to have sex with would have the same questions asked of him and if necessary guys have got themselves checked out before meeting and kept themselves untouched by others whilst we are shagging.

The law of physics would dictate that you're right.

However when the barrel of a revolver spins, it's not free spinning. You hear little clicks, which is each chamber passing the locking position. This resistance could easily make it so the bullet locks in place if it doesn't have enough inertia to go past top dead centre

People who have hiv infection that is being treated may also have an undetectable viral load, with an incredibly low transmission potential. People potentially acquiring the virus are also able to get near immediate treatment that can stop it becoming an infection that is permanent. In those circumstances is even more clear that it is nothing like Russian roulette. Shag became clear on this last year, after using the metaphor and responses to it.

Most people here will likely have some Herpes viral infection I'd assume and condoms are not a complete prevention for infection. Clinics do not test for every sexuallt transmitted infection, so people who have never been diagnosed with infections may still have picked them up.

Younger people now are getting prophylactic treatments that will reduce their risk levels above that of more mature people. There are also people taking medication that has equivalent hiv prevention rates to condom - they thus have nothing in common with RR, differently to condom users.

Life has risks, living active sexually is an element of that.

There is only one sure way to be completely safe during sex. That would be to not have sex at all.

However, bareback for me would only be with a trust partner, who she (and me) tests regularly.

Isn't herpesvirus a skin to skin contact STD? So even if you are wearing a condom you can still catch it if either partner has it on the pubic bone for instance?

I don't use dental dam and I wouldn't use a condom to give a bj, my personal choice and obviously my risks I'm taking.

Inertia is a property an object can have but isnt variable inertia means that an object will continue on its same axis until acted upon by a seporate force to not have enough doesnt make sence you meant energy (sorry im bored..... And a physics major lol)

Russian roulette has a 1 in 6 chance of killing you. Cancer 1 in 5 yet people who smoke wear condoms??

People with treated HIV have a normal life expectancy. Influenza kills on average 12,000 people a year in the UK.

It's the stigma of a STI that still frightens. If you get flu you tell everyone. If you get chlamydia you tell no one. Weird world.

Depends which version of Russian roulette;

If you spin the cylinder before each person pulls the trigger, in which case it is a constant 1/6;

Or whether you just spin the cylinder once at the start;

In which case the odds reduce;

1/6; 1/5, 1/4, etc .

It's not a good game with a semi auto pistol though.

By the way; the cancer statistics are wrong;

Cancer statistics depend on which cancer and at what stage it was diagnosed, but a broad statistic us that 50% of cancer sufferers survive more than 10 years.

The occurrence of lung cancer in smokers is less than 5% ( 1 in 20)

Yes;

Normally six chambers;

Some ( such as S&W slimline) have 5.

Unusual to have more than 6, except in some small caliber (.22), and a few historic ones.

Exactly this, you may end up with a treatable STD in which case, its not ideal, but not the end of the world.

However, what about herpes which isn't curable? Or mentioned, HIV?

You take your life in your hand each time you play bare, hence why it's compared to Russian Roulette

It's a well known fact you can catch the herpesvirus whilst wearing protection.

True, and you can catch STDs orally, but very few and I do include myself in this, we're a dental dam. "

Oh my...I'd rather not partake..how do you taste it???

"Did I read somewhere that if you spin the barrel before every shot is fired in Russian roulette you stand a chance that nobody will die since the bullets weight means that chamber is always at the bottom?

At a party.. spin everyone around for 60 seconds. Fuck the one that's still standing (and not puking).

Or on halloween my gran would put onions in a bowl of water and only 1 apple then blindfold all of us kids! This is the same gran that 'for a treat' would take me for walks to see road kill. "

She sounds cool.

Nobody wears a dental dam. They aren't wearable items.

It's like saying someone wears an umbrella.

"Ok, everytime a bareback thread pops up we all have a bet on who will make the comparison to the ill fated game of Russian Roulette.

"

Survival rate is higher...depends how you look at it. If one person looses Russian roulette he's dead. End of story. If, on the other hand you contract an STD all your future partners are then drawn into the game. If HIV is involved that overall death rate from that first game can be many orders of magnitude higher. Add in the rise of drug resistant gonorrhoea and chlamydia and their impact on general health, then fertility rates are also impacted. Add in the cost of treatment and days lost from work, the economy is also impacted. Overall the chap blowing his brains out is pretty small beer compared to barebacking. Oh, and by the way, therapy resistant HIV WILL emerge - it's just a matter of time.

A truly scary thought!!

It is a fact that if everyone in the world immediately stopped having sex, and never did it again, STIs amongst humans would be totally eliminated in a little over 100 years. Isn't that a goal worth persuing to erradicate such lethal, disfiguring, debilitating, terrifying and, easily most importantly, socially embarrassing, diseases?

Interestingly it would also stop all other human diseases, including cancer, too.

See how bad sex is for you? We must stop NOW!!! Who will be the first to go? Where is Big Brother (1984 version) when you really need him?

I've used a condom once in my life and haven't had an STD since I was 15, so it's hardly Russian Roulette.
