Don't x it divide it by two fifths

500 ÷ 40% is

1250 grams.

I think lol

Can't be that - I need to end up with 500g!!

If 500g of 2x = equivalent of 1000g full strength

Only 200g of 5x = equivalent of 1000g full strength

Therefore I would add 800g filler for 1000g

Or 400g filler (+100g 5x) for 500g??

Pauly where ARE you!??

yes this is right.

now you rounded it off it's easier to work out the percentage.

To end up with a 500g of 5x concemtrate you would want 100g of concentrate and 400g of filler for a 2x it would be 250 of each

Thats if i have understood your question correctly

No because my question was how much 5x concentrate and filler do i need to make up 500g of 2x lol!! As soon as I pro'd it up to 100g it was easy to see, i was trying to work out the percentages I need to multiply it by and could not do it that way, my O level maths was a long time ago now!!

Oh bugger no it's not!!!

500g of 2x = the equivalent of 1000g

200g of 5x = the equivalent of 1000g

So, I need to blend 200g of 5x with 300g filler to make 500g of 2x!!!

Yes that's right.

Two fifths and three fifths.

You got there in the end.

If you added 250g of filler to 250g of your 5x concentrate, would you end up with 500g of 2.5x concentrate?

Alternatively, just chuck some in, run for cover and cross your fingers!

Just think of it like this.

If you want 100g of 1x mix:

1/5 of concentrate =

20g concentrate 80g filler.

But you want 2x mix, double the concentrate:

= 40g concentrate , plus 60g filler

And you need 500g gram so times it all by 5:

200g concentrate 300g filler

Correct. That's why she needs 200g of 5xconcentrate and 300g of filler.

Whats the weight of one concentrate?

It's powder. She wants to know how many grammes to use. It's solved.

Is it a wrinkled filler?

I thought you were mixing two powders together to get a less concentrated powder

Lol, it's OK, it's ethical - she normally buys 2x but I can only purchase 1x or 5x at the moment, so I said I would make her up a blend to save confusion!!

Pha!!

When I was doing my R&D I used to weigh out small amounts of white powder on a gram scale that I was told by my nephew was the model of choice for drug dealers lol!
