I've never read any of his adult stories, I know there's four new short story anthologies of his adult work coming out soon though, they might work their way onto my birthday/Christmas lists though

I liked that too, I had the edition with Going Solo in too. Brilliant to see how his childhood shaped what he wrote

I saw some of them as Tales of the Unexpected first and then when I was old enough to get them out of the library I read them.

Can't believe that people try to compare modern writers such as David Walliams to Dahl. There is a world of difference.

They done a film/programme thing on it 2 Christmases ago, it was actually quite good considering some films ruin the original playwright

For part of our GCSE English we read one of his adult ones, the lady who murders her hubby with the frozen lamb shank , can't remember what it's called!?

Should have been a list up of all to start with.... although I recon the winner will be Danny!

No, you did exactly the right thing. The gift of chocolate is always welcome but it's temporary. A gift of Roald Dahl lasts forever.

I think it depends how old you are. I can remember really liking "Boy" and "Going Solo", but I think I was much older then than when "Danny, Champion of the World" was my favourite book.

I liked "The Twits" and "Georges' Marvellous Medicine" as a kid but I really dislike them as an adult.
