I'm with you.....I've always wanted one, though, just couldn't decide what to get that I wouldn't regret.

Right now, I'm looking at artwork of family members, to start with, and in inconspicuous places.

For me, it'll need to be something meaningful, and in a place where I can hide it, to start.

Get some cancer ribbon jewellery or something symbolic and wear it until you've decided about the tattoo, definitely, one way or the other?

If you're not sure, I'd say don't do it. You need to be certain you want to permanently mark your body that way.

If you're worrying about regretting it best not to get one.

If you're not sure then don't. I have 3 so far, 2 generic piece's I had when younger, I don't mind them, but do intend to work them into bigger pieces, the other is personal to me, and a piece I love, they are all on my legs so can easily cover if I wish. I love good ink, on either gender, but don't like face/hand tattoos.

I have lots. My view, as with everything in life, is that I could drop dead tomorrow. I'd rather live for today than worry about a future that might never happen.

Had my tattoo done about 16 months ago. Told no one I was having it done and is in a place that cannot be seen. Love it.

Don't do it once its done there's no going back laser surgery leaves scars and the majority of people find then socially unacceptable.

Seems to me that if I get old (well, OLDER) and my biggest regret is having some drawings on my skin, then I haven't done too badly at all.

OP, I've often thought about getting tattoos that mean something personal to me, but it's difficult choosing and worrying about regret, as I'm fussy/indecisive.

I once thought about getting a tattoo related to autism awareness, but the symbol I was wanting to use later developed negative aspects to me and others.

Same thing happened with some of the nordic and Anglo-Saxon symbols I was thinking of using for a tattoo.

laser surgery doesn't leave scars. the tattoo itself is a scar (that is coloured in).

There's always henna. Non permanent and a good way of deciding. If you think you might regret it though probably best not to have a permanent one.

Only get one If you're absolutely sure beyond a shadow of a doubt.

I still like my typical teenager dragon n tiger tatts.

Fancy another but I'll be thinking long n hard about where I want it n what I want.

None of mine mean anything, all of them are just because I liked the design

I don't need a tattoo to remember a birth or a death etc, I'm hardly going to forget if I don't have a tattoo on my body to symbolise it

Fifth Circle of Hell

Best things ive ever had done, got three now and booking next one in tomorrow...cant wait!!

It helped me to go from being terrified of needles to not caring so much now, next one will hurt a lot more than other 3 but all part of the pleasure
