Go to your local training school they normally run one, three and five day courses the price normally includes the hire of a bike too right from a twist and go to a 125cc with manual gears.

Hope that helps.

Mrs Notts has been commuting on Twist and Go Scooters 125cc for 10 years now.. CBT every two years though.. cheap easy and dead easy..

Any bike shop will arrange it for you..

Safety is the key.. don't turn up for the CBT without the right gear.. Boots, Helmet, Gloves etc.. all play as big a part..

Good luck...

Ohhh The CBT is a day course normally... Mrs Notts passed first time and had only ever riden a push bike before taking delivery of a new bike at the test centre..

Good luck with it I think its a good idea.........don't do what my hubby did though.....picked up his new bike from the shop and promptly drove it straight into a lampost

Anyone who knows about him and his accident status would'nt be surprised hahahahaha

cbt is dead easy and costs around £100 that includes all the gear including bike rental for the day.

as for getting a bike scooters are quite cheep especialy the imported ones. if you go for an import just check insurance first as not all companies insure the imports.

you will love it. i got my first bike in nov last year and has been great. with the right gear you dont really feel the cold either.

Hi from an ex-instructor, who is still a keen rider...

Before you do anything - find your nearest training organisation and just talk to them. Ask them to guide you in buying riding gear as well. You can do quite well on cheap gear, so long at it physically protects, but don't scrimp on the helmet - it will annoy the hell out of you if it isn't just right - and get an expert to judge the fit. A new helmet should be tight - the padding soon settles and it will loosen off.

Then, when you do get your first bike, get something simple, tidy and cheap. The first bike you buy always turns out to be wrong for you by the time you've got a little experience under your wheels. Make your mistakes on something that you can fix easily if need be and that you can sell on fairly soon.

Later - don't rush out and by a big shiny superbike - work your way up slowly because you'll learn a lot from a middleweight bike.

Soon as you're riding, message me and I'll send you details of an online women's bike club that it's well worth joining, and you'll find lots of support on there - 'specially in Scotland...

Or just message me anyway if you'd like to chat about it...
