Not in my line of work, my reputation has taken years to build and with the wrong words can be destroyed in seconds.

Sometimes an inadvertant innuendo or double entendre may slip in to the conversation with customers, but it rarely goes to that point.

All the time, here. Anything to make the customer smile! And have had blank looks only a few times. Most laugh out loud---and come back for more.

Two of my regular customers are a swinging couple---took months and quite a few sideways comments on both sides to be sure, but we figured it out in the end.

Maybe the odd innuendo, but apart that it seems rather unprofessional

Not with customers but I did go to a retirement do at a restaurant and spoke with a supplier who was sitting down to eat with the group. Having ordered a piece of pork, the dish that came prompted her to say "That's a large piece of meat"....I looked at her and simply smiled.Needless to say, she went a very red shade of crimson.

In a call centre job I had a customer who was apparently very flirty with me. I didn't pick up on it as I was in work mode and I'm not good at picking up on flirting at the best of times.

It was only pointed out to me by my manager as she had listened to the call for quality monitoring.
