An old fishing boat probably does very little. A 150ft sunseeker maybe a different story...for some women any way.

That being said, no one has ever asked me if I owned a boat before

Then the answer is no, from me. I like a person for whom they are and not what they own.

Is that a surprise?

I find it mixed, some think it's a bit wired, some are surprised to see we don't all have beards. A few like it and others seem un-bothered.

I own and live on a canal boat on a quiet marina with stunning views in Lancashire. It's wonderful.

Trust me there have been far stranger questions posted this week. Or just hang on two minutes and you will change your mind

Avast! Room for two on my skiff. I know a nice quiet mooring under a willow on a quiet bit of the Cherwell. Nothing is so much fun as messing about on the river.

Does the person need to own the boat? I mean, I work on one, though it's big, grey and not yet set sail for the first time down the Firth of Forth yet (we're still debating whether it'll fit under the bridges!)
