Whats happened to manners

Am I the only one on here who believes that having manners is important. It appears that you can't even look at a profile or simply say Hi without being blocked, a abrupt message come back. Being on here doesn't mean you have to forget manners. Treat people the way you wish to be treated

it doesn't quite work like that on here.. time is of the essence and if you aren't what they are looking for, why waste it by responding in a polite but ultimately negative way? its easier to block someone instead

Nothing to do with manners. As the Site FAQ page states: No Reply means Not interested.

Too many folk cannot take 'No' for an answer. Therefore when unsolicited mails are received, and the profile doesn't appeal - the Recipients are at liberty to delete/block the sender - to save time in not having to deal with petulant pests.

It's not ignorant to block people at all. This is not a sexual chat service with paid sex workers. If I am not interested in meeting a person I will block, saves wasting my time and theirs. You are even complaining about brief replies you do get. Try a premium rate chat service instead coz that's what you're expecting to receive

People on here have lives you know, it's called real life.

Ironic really when on your profile you state that you will block people when they send you certain messages.....

So you say hi, the person you say hi to isn't interested so they block you to save wasting yours or their time... What's the problem

If a stranger came up to me in the street and said hi and I felt they were doing it In a way to hit on me then I would indeed look away and therefore "block" them. So it's totally the same

Also do you reply to all your junk mail that comes through the post saying no thank you I'm not interested??!

This has, no doubt, already been said, but you need to understand that replying 'no thanks' and not blocking opens the door to 'but why?' or even abusive messages sometimes. Is not just you that's tired of arrogant people.

OP, I don't think your profile was aggressive at all.

The block button is a tool on here for everyone to use as they see fit. It's not a personal attack on you, it just means the person blocking you has no interest in meeting you.

If looking at profiles is causing people to block you, look in stealth mode instead so they don't know you've looked.

OP, people conduct their profiles in different ways, if someone messages me & I'm not interested I block them so they can't message me again. I doubt it's anything personal.

Fab has its own social conventions. These include messages not being replied to and blocking. It makes the people doing this no less polite, as they're following Fabs convention as well as site rules.

If you can't adapt to fit in, using your inherent flexibility, then you will likely feel at odds with others.

I wouldn't block, but I don't really know what I'm supposed to do with a random message, from someone I don't know, saying 'hi' to me. I guess we're supposed to say 'hi' back. But we joined Fab to have some fun, not to dick around replying to unwanted messages from strangers saying 'hi'.

Some well made points on here and we equate manners to this.....

If you walk up to a stranger and say hello, blah blah they are under no obligation to talk back to you and may just walk away, just like on fab

On the other hand if you walked up to a friend to chat you would expect a reply same should apply here!!!

I clearly state in my profile that I will not reply to messages or winks from people I'm not interested in but still get cowardly nasty messages saying how rude I am and then get blocked by them. So childish!!!!
