Somewhere in North Norfolk

I'm tired and grumpy so I'm thinking of positive things.

I have loads of stuff to clear out, mostly on eBay/Gumtree etc. I've been putting it off for over 2 and a half years. A few days ago I wrote an ad for one of the bigger items and put it on Gumtree. It sold yesterday and the buyer collected it yesterday evening, (I forgot he was coming and was in the shower when he turned up ). It wasn't anything valuable - only £20 - but it's been hanging round, taking up space for ages so it's good to have cleared it out. Plus £20 is better than a slap in the face with a kipper

I finally got my network sorted out and finished configuring it last night. The hardware I bought worked as I'd hoped, (it wasn't definite that it would), and I now have wi-fi in the garden and in the garage.

I've been cracking on with DIY that I've been putting off for months, (putting up shelves, making a printer stand and such), over the last couple of days. Progress has been slow due to the heat but it's going well. I should finish and have everything back in place (and tidier due to the extra storage space) by the weekend.

Tell me your recent positive happenings, please.

Camber Sands? I read about that.

It's an organised lake swim with safety support - I wanted somewhere a bit safer than the North Sea as there's a lot of jellyfish and riptides around at the moment

I've been invited to visit a friend in London. I always have a good laugh with her, so that will be great.

I also have two invites to South Wales, which I'm hoping to be able to take up sometime soon.

I'd have to get back to a pool regularly for a while first.

I used to swim a mile every morning but I stopped when I got a chest infection several years ago and was seriously ill for 3 or 4 months. I never started again.

I have just lugged my new mattress upstairs on my own (it was rather more challenging than I had initially expected). It took nearly two hours, all ten fingernails, quite a lot of rather un-Heels like language, two 'strategy breaks' to actually visualise what I was doing and stripping down to my undies when I started to heat up to roughly the temperature of the earth's core.

However, I am currently lying on it with clean, fresh bedding, still in my undies feeling quite chuffed and rather like I've just been beasted in the gym!

Sweet Heels Dreams tonight.

Over the rainbow, under the bridge

I'm slowly introducing a new cat to my old one. They had breakfast together albeit with the new one in a dog crate. And there was only a tiny bit of hissing involved.

They'll be fed together like this for a few days before a proper meeting.

Somewhere in North Norfolk

I've just back from the vet. My boy cat has conjunctivitis. I noticed a problem this morning and called the vet immediately. They made me an appointment for this afternoon.

That doesn't sound particularly positive but...

I noticed very early and took him to be treated immediately so we caught it whilst it was very mild.

Even better, staining his eye surface showed no ulcers or injuries to the eye.

I can't put a positive slant on the nearly £60 bill though! (I also needed a repeat prescription for girl cat).

I now have to put eye gel in the eye twice per day for a week.
