After much nagging by kids, finally succumed to Sky tonight and subscribed.

What are people's opinion of Sky v VM? Better, worse, easier to use (sounded complicated to me)

well ive had sky for years cheaper and more channels by far lots

I got the sky box free plus only £10 for BT landline installation at the moment as they are doing a job lot in my area so got the best offer yet.

Apparently it comes with all the freeview channels as standard package

I'd never use Virgin purely because when it was telewest, we got threatening letters from solicitors over a phone bill that HAD been paid, the kerfuffle went on for nearly a year cause their admin staff are a bunch of dumb fuckwits, dont care how much cheaper than sky they are, i'd never use them again

Virgin only because i cannot have BT line for the internet and have the triple package, otherwise im not bothered, i just dont want a mix of both, too expensive and i dont need all the kids programmes as mine are grown up

tv better (more channels)... internet worse (slower speed)... as for a phone line.... well, its just a phone line....

I have Virgin... and I like it better than Sky because you can record two things at once and watch a third. Sky is one less I think (or at least it was) and I'm a big fan of 9pm things!

Can't get virgin out in the sticks, and there's enought crap on freeview without more to choose from lol

Oh and it would be nice to get more than 1 meg broadband too !!

or on sky you root for the +1 channels... and record ya 9pm things at 10pm.... lol there are ways around it...

the biggest thing for me is the internet speed thing... with virgin media because it is dedicated lines you will get the speed that is advertised... so 20mb means 20 mb,

because sky use bt lines, you will need to find out how far away you are for an exchange to see what speed line you will get... no point in getting paying for 10/20/50mb speed if you only capable of 5mb

I have Virgin too, the fibre optic broadband is very good, but find the speed varible at certain times of the day, Virgin Media are bit too eager about their bill, charging you 10 pound if your late paying it, besides that they haven't even changed the box since it was Telewest.

why would box be changed ??if it aint broke dont fix it as they say lol !

ours developed an issue and was changed then ,no idea what it said on frount as only a company name .as long as my channels are there thats all that matters .

cant see past virgin as ive got the new tivo box and leaves anything else on offer for dust ! same with the bb too ,nothing comes close to it !
