Not really I've done ALL types of cleaning. I still do cleaning now for 3 old ladies was supposed to be just one but they recommend me to their bingo mates and I've had to tell them no more people! I don't mind doing it for them cos I'll sit and have a cuppa tea with them and a chat.

I've also done crime, trauma and biohazardous waste cleaning, that's hard work and you need a strong stomach.

I wouldn't say it was humble, it's a public service, safely removing needles from playgrounds and other public places. Removing blood off the road after an rtc and off the vehicles that are going to the repair shops, vomit, poop, blood from public places or body tissue, brain matter and the rest off railway tracks or death from heights, it's all a public service, wouldn't say I felt humbled doing it.

Cleaning humbling? no...looking after a dying patient or an elderly person who can no longer care for themselves, that I'd say is humbling

Demoralising is one word I'd use especially if you're going into public places where people can see you. I remember some offices where people would smoke outside in a shelter, the same shelter that homeless people would use in the nights and someone had pooped there, cleaning up human shit whilst having an audience of men and women in smart suits gawping at you, that's demoralising.

The definition of humbling is to be marked by meekness or to be self effacing .. it is not a word that equates to cleaning other people's crap up for a living

Im not sure how I feel about this as I feel like it is disparaging to the lady that cleans my house tbh.

I have to say she is as business minded as I am and earns almost as well as me. She has simply choosen to apply herself to a service led industry.

She is professional and amazing.and I really.love her1

I can imagine lol to answer your question tho...I don't really see cleaning as humbling....I was really well paid and it kept me fit in the process....I went to work..got paid and went home....I now work in a care home where it sometimes takes the patient of a saint..dealing with violent residents and sitting with someone all night with a straw just to get fluids into them....that's more humbling in my eyes x

Just imagine cleaning up sick on the arena floor meanwhile its a full house completely sold out and your there with your sawdust cleaning it all up with thousands of people watching

I'm not quite sure if you are using the right words.

But it sounds a little like you're looking down on people who clean.

Minimum wage is now 7.20 an hour. Your employer is breaking the law if they don't pay you that

I can do without a man but I could not do without my cleaner. And I am grateful to her for making my weekends enjoyable [ no, not in 'that' way ] as otherwise I would spend all my leisure time cleaning and tidying up my house

'Co-operatives' charge £15; self-employed charge £12

I prefer my self-employed cleaner; that way, I am not getting someone new everytime
