Seems to be a trend thing at present, being described as a Sapiosexual. I suppose it goes with the Geek fashion thing of glasses, beards, and t!

Intelligence is a turn on though; nothing worse than a pretty lass who is as mentally stimulating as a slug having a salt bath.

The second definition on urban dictionary:

"A shibboleth used by poseurs attracted to the appearance of intelligence rather than actual intelligence. People genuinely attracted to intelligence know that the word “intelligence” is derived from the Latin “intelligere”; that the Latin participle for wisdom is “sapiens,” not “sapio”; and that the Latin “sapio” means something that tastes good."

Intelligence isn't just knowing some big words and being able to facilitate them in a long, boring, grammatically correct sentence; thereby, fooling people of lesser intelligence into thinking they are more intelligent than them and making them a bit wet in the knickers/pants area.

My point was about people who say they are not intelligent.

But claim being street smart makes them intellgent somehow.

I then ask them to get me some cos they are street smart and they cant even do that. Haha

Without conversation I can't feel any sexual attraction to someone. What we talk about determination whether there's attraction and the tone in which the person speaks. I've spoken to intelligent men who come across as creepy and lascivious; which I don't like. Intelligent men can be driven by their ball fullness as much as thickos. I actually like some thickos, cos they can make me laugh and some are great to fuck.

but if soneone is a sapiosexual why cant they work it out for themselves. I like intelligent people but my version of intelligence might be different to someone elses

If someone said to me they are a sapiosexual i wouldnt really know what they meant. If they expected me to be musically intelligent or mathematically intelligent then im buggered if they where looking for emotional/interpersonal intelligence then id be great.

Finding someone you match with is intelligent.

Stimulating someones mind is intelligent

I type like I speak. Long words, swearwords, colloquialisms or whatever in a stream of consciousness. It's not an attempt to fool people into thinking I'm clever; I just happen to like words. A lot. It's got fuck all to do with intelligence and everything to do with the fact I relish language and books.

I thought I would be ideal for a sapiosexual, until I met one. I am a bit of a Renaissance man myself. Ultimately the thread really has one conclusion and that is people like what they like irrespectively.

However human nature can mean that we can change our perspective from the norm. In relation to a sapiosexual on occasions they can suddenly become shallow towards a certain person and say, they are not my normal type but I like them. It's just the way we are and hence, we like what we like.

I don't understand how picking someone for cock size is considered shallow but picking them for their intelligence is seen (by some) as more meaningful and more acceptable.

It's still just a 'like'. Why is one like considered better than the other?

Picking someone based on genitals is a "preference". Wanting to swing with like minded people makes you a "fascist".

"I don't understand how picking someone for cock size is considered shallow but picking them for their intelligence is seen (by some) as more meaningful and more acceptable.

It's still just a 'like'. Why is one like considered better than the other?

Guilt complexes again...

Self assertion that they are worthy and choosy. I'm a "fuck anything" woman because I don't choose my partners to justify my worthiness."

Classy.

According to the logic of those on the forum who shout the loudest:

Picking someone based on genitals is a "preference". Wanting to swing with like minded people makes you a "fascist".

Hope that clarifies things for you."

Uh, I shout pretty loudly and I don't agree with that at all.

"Without conversation I can't feel any sexual attraction to someone. What we talk about determination whether there's attraction and the tone in which the person speaks. I've spoken to intelligent men who come across as creepy and lascivious; which I don't like. Intelligent men can be driven by their ball fullness as much as thickos. I actually like some thickos, cos they can make me laugh and some are great to fuck. i wouldnt meet anyone i thought was thick

I wouldn't call someone thick,I was using the word to make my point. I'll meet someone who doesn't have a large vocabulary or hasn't had much of an education,if we talk and I like them. "

Having a large vocabulary or a good education are not necessarily intelligence though.

Intelligence is a capability. Education develops it but intelligence can still be there without education, and can manifest in many ways than just highbrow academia.

It's entirely possible to be intelligent yet unable to read, for example.

I am attracted to people who interest me. Intelligent people are more likely to interest me. Whether they are formally educated to a particular level or have an extensive vocabulary is less of an issue.

I know. I left school at 14½ and haven't got one qualification to my name.
