This for me, I was seeing someone casually further away, but then after a year he wanted to get serious and move in and I wasn't in the same place.

Suppose it could work if your both on the same page and want the same things. Best of luck.

Marc and I had a long distance relationship for 3 years while I was in law school. It turned out great

I think long distance can work if the people involved want it enough. But I eventually gave up pursuing my career in order to move and be with him. I wouldn't have wanted long term for any more time then we already did.

I had the exact same thing. I was basses in Germany. Things were fine and worked out great. It does work if you make it.

they do work, if all parties involved put in the effort. and it takes a lot of that. texts, letters, skype and visits.

patience, trust and understanding. but i guess you need that for any other relationship too, just a bit more in long distance.

When Mrs N and I first met we were separated by 200 miles for a couple of years. We've been together for 14 years married for 10 of those years. I'd say that was pretty successful
