If you were expecting something perverse, I have to apologise.

I have a genuine dilemma.

After a few years of good use, I am becoming aware that I have out used my cooking implements.

I'm destined to go down the Tefal road once more, but I've seen a glossy sign post for ceramic pans.

Has anyone switched to ceramic, and found enlightenment?

For the record, I don't fuck around, I cook on gas.

All thoughts welcome!

I bought a ceramic frying pan, doesn't live up to the hype. Couldn't cook without oil, it hasn't been hard wearing and because it has become scratched it isn't easy to clean.

Grantham

Ceramic is heavy, cast iron is too.

Though I adore that French brand of overpriced very heavy cookware

They are rubbish, scratches easy and overpriced considering mine is 3 months old and needs replacing

Love cooking with cast iron pans, found they always distributed the heat nice and evenly, and could always go straight into the oven as well. Only issue was keeping them seasoned in between use

I'd rather buy once, and get it right.

The French shit is alright, but I get put off it when I see it in Garden centres.

I feel they are trying to plug the hell out of it!

Have a look on Amazon for a brand called de buyer. Its a steel pan, will still have to be seasoned like cast iron but nowhere as heavy to handle.

You all look good naked.

For this reason, I think that I will continue to worry more about what I cook in the pan, and let the rest sort itself out!!!!!!

Thanks for the replies X
