Why do people open accounts chat to you then delete them within a few hrs, I can only assume fakes

No accounts are fakes. They are all real people.

Not all are fakes. We've met guys who go on some sort of guilt trip and delete their accounts after meeting.( theyve contacted us again after opening a new one.)

There are comparatively few real hard core fakes on here and the tag "Fake" is used too much to describe no shows or cutting contact etc.

People have lives and complicated relationships with themselves. They disappear or dont turn up for hundreds of reasons - I bet the minority are because of pure mischief.

No idea but it's frustrating.

Someone opened up conversation with us last night, unsolicited. We hadn't seen them before. Was UNLOS by this morning once it became apparent we weren't going to Snapchat them a load of filth after 2 messages.

Fairly standard for on here sadly.

The account in question was a couples account, it was only opened yesterday & the profile picture was a bit iffy to say the least, so anyway after a few swapped messages i get the message, do you have cocaine, wake up this morning check inbox user no longer on this site lol

They probably got reported for discussing drugs and kicked off the site.

Yes these people often open an account with false details about themselves and therefore they are fake.

Ignore.

Btw

We tend (as a rule of thumb) to ignore those unverified.

You can spot the fake accounts with a bit of thought so ignore and move on.
