The comparatively huge number of GB medals shows that our athletes are by far the best funded in the world. Are they still “amateurs” in the true sense of the word?

I think that they represent British sport at its best and nothing taken a wh from them for that.

But! A lot of them are not amateurs because they get funded and paid for doing thier particular sport Murray is a professional tennis player, Mo is sponsored and funded so that he can train every day and travel to compete and quite a few others are full time funded.

Again I don't think you can take anything away from the fact that they are eat the top of thier game and could not be if they were pure amateurs.
